Salem Marina and Hotel

We are thinking of getting maried at Salem Marina and Hotel in Salem, MA. Anyone had their wedding or been to a wedding there? Thoughts or suggestions?

    Salem Waterfront is beautiful.  I went to a wedding there about a year ago.  The staff are great and the food is amazing.
    The only thing I would be careful with is the tide schedule.  I know it sounds crazy, but if your reception is during a low tide, the smell can be overwhelming depending on the time of the year.  Hope that helps! Good Luck

    Do you mean the Salem Waterfront Hotel on Pickering Wharf? I'm getting married there on 7/14/12! I love it there! If you have any specific questions, I'm more than happy to help you!

    My H and I checked it out - it is a pretty hotel. If you are looking for another Salem space, you may want to try the Hawthorne Hotel. We were married there and the space is gorgeous!

    Are you going with the DJ/uplighting as well or getting your own?

    I am using my own DJ, I haven't picked them yet, although I have two that I am considering. I'm on the fence about the uplighting because I'm not sure if it's worth the cost....it's kind of a "nice to have", so I might just see how we are doing budget-wise as I get closer to the day. When is your wedding?

    I just had my wedding there. They were 90% amazing. There were things the day of that really got me They didn't follow the set up that I asked for (and my table got bumped and glasses got broked since they didn't), my wedding coordinator left as my reception started and I was left with some guy who was anoying and pushy, the waiters and waitresses didn't come to fill our (my husband and my) water, when my glass broke they did not replace wet napkin yet cleared away broken glass. I know of many events there that have gone wonderfully! Mine did go amazing just a few things I was fustrated with. The food was amazing, everythign looked beautiful, my guests loved it all!!!!!!

    Who was your sales manager? I've been working with Amy who I love for the most part, but she never returns calls or emails for weeks at a time. So far though we are very happy with them, I will make sure to find out that she will be there the whole night. Thanks for the tips! Do you have your wedding pics back? I'd love to see what the space looks like all decorated!
