  OPEN!! The sooner you get thanks yous going the better off you are in the end. Besides, I couldn't stand to see it there wrapped teasing me! LOL!

  open it and get the thank you note out of the way!  Also, if you don't acknowledge the receipt of the gift until much later, the person who gave it may wonder if you even got it.

  open it for sure.  Prompt thank yous are important in wedding etiquette. They usually say not to use wedding gifts till after the wedding though.

  Yeah, I always heard the proper etiquette is open presents as you receive them and send thank you notes as soon as you get them, but no later than 2 weeks later or something, but you have longer to send them out for things you receive at the wedding. That way people know you received them, but you're not supposed to use them until after the wedding, so that if the wedding gets cancelled you can still give the gift back to whomever gave it to you. lol. Of course, etiquette varies based on whom you ask. SO, I would have opened it, too. lol.

  Unless it was specifically a shower gift I always opened upon receipt

  1. If it's china or crystal you need to open it and check for breakage

  2. Send your thank you note now! Less to do post honeymoon
