What to give..

My neighbour/friend invited my to her wedding. My husband cannot make it and I don't want to go to the reception alone, not knowing her family or other friends. Instead I offered to babysit her 2 year old after the ceremony. My question is, should I still give a gift? If so how much would be reasonable? Would you consider the babysitting the gift or is that tacky? Thanks

    I think the babysitting is beyond thoughtful and I'd consider it a gift.  I'd just add a card and maybe a very small token (i.e. under $20)

    It depends on your budget. If you can afford to and want to give her something extra, go ahead and do so. Gifts should never be expected so the babysitting is a wonderfully thoughtful and I'm sure greatly appreciated gift. 

    If it were me, I'd probably give her a card with a gift card to wherever she's registered for $50-100 or so. But I have no clue what your financial circumstances are, so it's completely individual.

    Since it's a neighbor and you'll probably have a longstanding relationship, I'd personally gift something around $50 (my normal wedding gift is $100-$150, for comparison).

    I think offering to babysit is very kind of you. 

    If I were you, I would definitely still give her a card and (depending on financial situation, whether you've already given her a gift at a shower, etc.) either a check or a gift card for a reasonable amount of money ($50 would be my max based on my own financial situation at the moment).
