I'm not really sure this board is the right place for this...

...but here goes.

I'm a straight woman planning a wedding with the man that I am SO excited to spend the rest of my life with. I just wanted to say that I don't take my ability to do that for granted. So many of my friends aren't as lucky, and I'll be attending the Pride festivities in Minneapolis this weekend with that in mind.

    I think it was nice of you to post.  And I agree with you as well.

    As I make plans for my wedding, and share each thought and idea with my son (he's 17 and will be walking me down the aisle) I never take for granted that I have the ability to marry the one I love.  And as we plan, I'm always mindful of the far away look in his eyes, or the long conversations we have as he tries to understand why he doesnt have the same rights. 

    I truly hope one day I can help him plan his wedding to the man lucky enough to have him.  He's a wonderful boy, and my oxygen.
