On a budget

Anyone have any suggestions for a venue for a very small wedding? We are going to have 25-30 guests and we are a very tight (and small) budget. I have looked into parks and things but I am worried about rain. We are looking to get married spring 2014. Everywhere I look is either way too expensive or requires a min of 50+ people.

    The haversham in westerly, RI. I've heard good things about them. I don't know about the people minimum. Another one, may be out of your budget, is the waterman Grille in providence, RI, very pretty, and deals mainly in small wedding parties. Hope that helps.

    What about some rooms in restaurants?   If you're OK to go without a DJ and the ballroom-type space, you may get a great  deal if you just book a private room in a local restaurant.

    I would say look into restaurants in the area you want to hold the wedding in. With 25-30 guests, you have a lot of options. Also, I looked into the barn at Dudley Farm in Guilford, CT. With a small wedding, you could do a lot with the space, and have indoor options as well as outdoor, depending on weather. The site rental fee was around $1,000 - $1,500 but that was for 80 people. You may pay even less. I will also just throw this out there. My husband and I stayed at the Stowe Mountain Lodge a few years ago and it is AMAZING. It is consistently rated one of the best hotels in the world. They do small, intimate weddings.     @mgaura have you look at Stamford Banks Street (I think that's the name of it)  It is downtown and you can bring as many guests as you want.

    I'm not sure how you feel about not having a dance floor or what area of the state you're considering but I highly recommend the Beach House in Milford and J. Timothy's in Plainville. They are both restaurants but each has gorgeous private rooms for a small-ish wedding, but neither has a dance floor. I've been to weddings at both and the food is great and service was fantastic.
