Out of state wedding

Live in California but want to get married in Hawaii. I have to have a marriage license in both places right? How does that work?

    I think you just get the license for the state you are getting married in. I got married in CA and live in WI and just had the one for CA.

    ETA - we got the marriage license for CA when we arrived there. It was good for 60-90 days. We used that for our ceremony and then our officiant turned it in to CA county clerk office. Then we requested a marriage certificate online from home and used that to do all the name changing / etc here in WI.
