November 2013 Weddings

Let the weather stalking begin

Anyone know of any sites that do 30 day weather forecasts?  I know it won't necessarily be reliable but it would sure give me an outlet for my anxiety for the next 20 days.

Re: Let the weather stalking begin

  • The farmer's almanac I believe gives some information for extended weather forecasts. I remember looking at it for my engagement photos and it predicted rain up until a week before and then it was sunny lol.
  • I found this one last night.

    http://www.weathertrends360.com/

It says November 2 is supposed to be in the low 60's here.  PLEASE let that come true!!
  • That's better than anything I've found lol. It says for the 23rd in Georgia that it will be in the low 60s and Partly Sunny. Sounds good to me.
  • FI and I are praying for snow on our wedding day.  Last year on 11/9/12 it snowed and was so so pretty!  Fingers crossed we get some more again this year.

We're hope hope hoping to be able to do an outdoor ceremony on the cliffs at the back of our venue.  We're doing hot apple cider as a welcome drink and will have blankets available.  Guests can also wait around a campfire or inside for the ceremony to start, and the ceremony is only about 20-25 minutes so I *think* our cut off is a high of 55-56 or higher. (ceremony is at 3 which is the hottest part of an average day here)  ???   I know that is the set up/playing outside cut off for the acoustic guitarist doing our cocktail hour. The only person I'm really worried about is my brother who is coming from the Cayman Islands and thinks anything in the 60's is downright frigid.

Every morning I look at the temperature then go stand in the back yard in my boxers and tank top for ten minutes trying to decide if it's doable.    Thank goodness for 6 foot privacy fences or else what would the neighbors think?
  • accuweather.com has a 30+ day outlook. We are getting married on 11/2/13, I don't care if it's cold I just don't want rain while we are trying to take pictures! *Fingers crossed*

  • Ugh. I tried accuweather and it says "rain becoming steadier". Hopefully that's wrong

I'm pretty sure that beyond one week out it's really inaccurate.  I've noticed that accuweather makes their long range prediction and it never updates.   Their 7 day forecast here isn't the same as our local one, just the same as it's always been.   But at least it's been something to placate my anxiety in the mean time.  In a couple of weeks I'll have a more legit idea.

ETA: Also, accuweather is saying low 50s for us but the other 30 day site says high 60s.  Useless!!
  • @WonderRed. I figured it would be inaccurate since TV weather people can't even always get tomorrow right. But I didn't like seeing it say it would rain all weekend.

Good thing our ceremony and reception are inside, so we would be okay but cocktail hour is supposed to be outside. I guess we will see once we get closer.
  • Indoor vs. outdoor ceremony  may come down to a morning of decision for us.  And yeah.  I've definitely seen our local folks predict cool, clear & sunny but then woken up to a howling blizzard. Oops!  November in Colorado could be in the 70's or  we could have a foot of snow.  How's that for a useless, annoying range of possibilities?  I just hope it's a clear cut for us.  Either 58 and up or in the 40s. Either it's sunny an no clouds to be seen  or it's obviously raining/snowing.   No squishy, grey areas please.

    Got that, mother nature?  TYVM
  • I second that, @WonderRed - let's just either be sunny or be pouring rain.  Indecisive weather is not okay.
  • @WonderRed  I hear ya.  We're getting married in the foothills and are really hoping for snow, but we have a completely inside ceremony and reception with the option to hang out by a fire pit.

  • I'm hoping I don't have to pay the extra $450 to heat the all-season tent where  my ceremony and dinner will be (cocktails and dancing in the main ballroom).
  • according to accuweather.com our wedding day should be sunny with highs in the 60s-70s :)
  • I'm getting married outdoors on Nov. 30th, I hope it doesn't rain for the ceremony! Our reception is indoors, so I'm not worried about afterwards. Lol.
  • The prediction from accuweather for my day slipped from low 70's to a high of 58 for my day, and a low of 38! Well, our guests might be cold, but we're getting married in front of a big outdoor fireplace, so at least we'll be warm!
  • Mine already changed too. It originally said rainy and cloudy. Now it says 71 degrees and sunny! I hope that's true :)
  • Accuweather says 59 and sunny. Thats fine with me! Ill take the sun but any temp is fine.
