Wedding Woes

Movie Review-Gravity

*no dead kids during the movie*

I went into this movie completely terrified, mostly because of the prospect of actually floating off into space, because that is all they show on previews.  So that little snippet had sent my body into full on tremors before we even sat down.

BUT, I knew the movie would be good, because really...space, tight quarters and impending doom...what's not to like?

The movie definitely delivers.  I remember looking at my watch thinking it couldn't have been more than 30 minutes, and we were nearly 60 minutes in.  Great movie....good filming, not sure if it's probable but it's not too far outside of my realm of possibility for humans.

AND the best part?  90 minutes...this isn't a 2.5 hour long Quentin Tarantino craziness.  It's awesome because you can actually plan on doing something else with your evening if you attend this movie.

Also, great preview of the new AHS.  I was clapping and squeeing.

    Me three.

H suggested going last Friday, but we were under a tornado warning at the time so I told him I would have to wait for my blood pressure and intestinal cramps to calm before going to a theater and risking AI (aka worst movie ever) levels of sadness and despair.

Without spoiling anything can you give me some reasonable level of assurance that I won't leave the theater feeling like life is pointless?  All of the reviews I've read mentioned that it is a movie that really needs to be seen on the big screen to be enjoyed.

    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • Zsa, I was terrified, I'm talking cold sweat and shaking in my seat.  Mostly because it's one of those movies where every second seems to count.  BUT, though scary and shake-inducing---it will not make you want to throw yourself in traffic, in fact....just see it.

The best part of the movie is the visuals, really. The plot is weak, and no, you won't be searching in vain for a reason to get out of bed the next morning. I'm sure it'd be good on your regular TV via netflix, but really, the IMAX 3D was well WELL worth the extra $$. (And I don't even think it was that much extra, to be honest.) And if minitown doesn't have imax 3d, maybe see it on your next visit here or at least do the big screen.
