Mine is Halloween--which is thankfully right around the corner!
I just started playing my Halloween radio at work today >:)

Re: Favorite holiday??

  • I love Halloween too! I used to love it for the costumes and the haunted houses, but alas, I feel like I'm getting too old for that. :( So now I just love it for the candy, lol.
  • @amapola14, same here!! I still decorate the house lightly for it, and have fall scented candles everywhere..but it just doesn't have the same excitement of being able to run around and trick or treat. Oh well...one day when I have kids I can relive it vicariously through them! Lol

  • Fun story: my parents were super-grande trying to raise us up all Christian and stuff, so we weren't allowed to go trick-or-treating until I was almost in high school (no, I don't know what part of that wasn't "Christian"). We were still allowed to wear costumes to celebrate fall, which confuses the hell out of me now.

What are kids for if not living out your holiday traditions and joys through them? Lol.
  • I really love all Holidays but I think my favorite will always be Christmas! I don't like how insane people get during this time but I love the smells, the lights, and the tree the most out of it all. Oh and I can't forget the music! I'm absolutely obsessed with Christmas music, I will start listening to it the day after Thanksgiving.
  • @amapola -- thats hilarious!! At least you still got to wear the costumes!!

@southernpeach89 -- Christmas is great too :) I love love love Christmas music as well, and just the general all around happy vibe.

  • My favorite holiday has always been my birthday because I'm just selfish enough to like having one day being all about me. If I have to pick a holiday to share, I like Christmas - I love decorating with my family, baking, cooking for Christmas day, and giving people presents (it's my love language).
  • I'm joining the Christmas bandwagon. It's my favorite holiday by far because I really like giving and getting presents. Plus also my house looks so pretty with all the Christmas decorations out. I'm tempted to leave them out year round lol! I've already bought one Christmasy thing already. It's a giant wooden star ornament but I'm going to use it as a tree topper instead. I'm really excited for this year because I have a yard and a front porch of my own so I get to decorate with lights and all the trimmings outside and not just inside!

My second favorite holiday is the 4th of July. My family has a tradition of running the Peachtree Road Race every year and the time we spend together just makes the day really special. Besides...who doesn't love a day off from work plus fireworks plus cookouts and beer?

  • I adore Christmas. I love seeing my family's faces light up when they love the gift from me. I'm more the "i just want to give you your gift and see your face" then caring about my own gifts. I also just love Christmas trees, they've always been a magical part of my childhood and just everything that comes along with the holiday.

  • Christmas here too.  And Christmas in Chicago is so lovely....all the lights, the snow, the crisp air and the anticipation.  I heart Christmas.
  • This is going to sound absolutely nuts, but my favorite holiday is Passover. Even though I immensely hate keeping kosher for 8 days.

  • I love most holidays - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, St. Patricks Day, the Fourth of July. But I think Christmas and the Fourth of July tie as my favorite holiday. I love Christmas because of all the traditions my family has and it's just a fun, cozy time of year! And the Fourth of July is a really big deal in my home town - we really go all out and have the best fireworks show I've ever seen!

  • Halloween is my favorite holiday.  I love the eerie feeling in the air and being able to dress up in costume without much judgement.

  • i love christmas and thanksgiving!!!!
  • I love Thanksgiving, but my favorite holiday will always be Christmas. Especially since BF and I have developed our own traditions over the past couple of years (movie in the city and Chinese food on Xmas Eve, opening presents while drinking mimosas in the morning). I also love giving (and receiving, not gonna lie) presents and eating all the yummy food my family makes for holidays.

  • Thanksgiving has to be my favorite!!! I love the family atmosphere and the general idea of just celebrating the idea of being THANKFUL!!! There is always something to be thankful for.
  • I love most Holidays but I think Thanksgiving is my favorite. I enjoy being with family and I love fall (and hello, pumpkin pie). Plus like @katieg520 said I like being thankful (even though we should all the time). I am starting to like Christmas more. I lost my brother 2 days before Christmas 2006, so it wasn't the "most wonderful time of the year" for awhile but it's getting easier.

I also like Fourth of July just because it screams summer to me and I like that time of year :)
  • I like most Holidays but Christmas will always be my favourite.  The music, shopping for gifts, wrapping presents, the decorations, the tree, the movies, the traditions...  Ugh I'm excited for it already.  :)

Ummmm are we related!!! LOL... I can relate!
  • Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Candy, and awesome costumes. I enjoy New Years Eve (its my birthday). And last but not least: Christmas (I enjoy decorating the tree, wrapping presents, and gingerbread cookies). Thats about it.

Can totally relate. I lost my grandmother Dec 23 2004 and it took me a long time to come around and start enjoying Christmas again. Now, I've learned to kind of embrace it and celebrate it to the fullest. Although its still a really hard time of year for me, I take it as an opportunity to celebrate her life and honor her memory. It helps :)
