BM Dress Deadline

When are you all having your girls order their dresses by? Meaning when is their "deadline" to order their dresses....?

I actually just sent an email to my girls about this this morning. We decided to go and order them in November. The bridal shops around here say they take about 3 months to come in. December would have been the ideal ordering time (but its soooo busy with the holidays) and January would be cutting it too close for comfort (in case there's any mess ups with the order or with alterations).

I asked my bridesmaids to order their dresses by the end of the year (my wedding in 5/31/14). Hopefully they all will!

We aren't going until February. Hopefully we aren't too late. I didn't want to go during the holidays because I know it's too crazy and one of my BM's is pregnant and due in the middle of January so that made January be out

I don't care. They've already convinced me to let them order whatever dress they want from wherever as long as it's in one of two colors. Hopefully they'll fit into their $15 f21 dresses come May.

My ladies are ordering theirs the 3rd week of October. We found their gown last weekend and they will take atleast 10 weeks to get in. They want to order before the holidays. Im so anal, I began to worry that when we get all 11 in, atleast one, may need to reorder..making it another 10 weeks..plus alterations so we are def. ordering in Oct!

Our dress shop recommended having the orders placed by October. I think it depends on the route you're going (buying them from the same store, letting the girls pick their own, etc). But if you are ordering them from a store, I would definitely ask what they recommend.

I haven't even started looking at BM dressed!!

We wont be ordering them till probably February because one of my girls are pregnant and due in January.

you think it will be okay?

I'm letting them each pick out their own. One is preggo, due at the end of this month so I know she isn't going to be trying them on yet. I went dress shopping with another this past weekend and narrowed some choices down for her.

You should def check with the stores you could potentially use. I was told they will take 3-4 months to come in. That could depend on the store, designer, etc but I'd look into it. Most places will let you put a rush on them but of course there's an extra charge.

I went with my Bridesmaids on Sept. 22nd we ordered and they paid for them that day, and they all came in this morning already... didn't actually believe it, but sure enough I went in and picked them all up. Now, I'm sure not every place is going to THAT quick.

I haven't even decided who my bridesmaids are yet so this discussion makes me slightly nervous. I'm sure dresses won't take several months to come in--it's not like they're as complicated as a bridal gown. But I'm thinking of picking a regular dress from a store like J.Crew or something, not a dress from a bridal salon that will require alterations.
