Weekend is almost here!

I'm too excited to even think straight right now. Four hours of work until DH and I are off to Clemson. We're stopping in NC tonight to visit some friends, then meeting my parents in Clemson tomorrow morning for a quick tour and lunch, then heading to the lake house to meet up with my college gfs. We'll hang out on a boat, lounge in the sun (80s and sunny all weekend!). Saturday, we head to the game. To say I'm excited would be a gross understatement. This is me right now:

Re: Weekend is almost here!

  • Love college football! Although I'm an alumnae and fan of the Tigers... the purple and gold kind! GEAUX LSU TIGERS!!!!

    Have a great weekend!
  • @cu97tiger -I went to my first official Clemson game last season against Furman and I then I went to the one this year when they played Georgia. FI is a huge Georgia fan and I'm not so I'm so glad they whooped them.

Anyways, I'm more than ready for this weekend to be here and then again when am I not? My mother wants to go shopping for her MOB dress and I'm interested to see what she picks out. She is into this sequin and glitzy phase right now so I can see this being an interesting shopping experience lol.
  • @southerpeach89 - That Georgia game was awesome. Just such a good game (and we won... bonus!). I really liked both my mom's and MILs dresses.

Have fun at the game and dress shopping!

This weekend is for knitting. I've got two commissions right now - a Season 15 Doctor Who scarf and a dice bag with the Star Trek insignia on it. Give me a chance to practice Fair Isle (stranded) knitting and work on a new method for casting on, joining, and hiding ends as I go. I need to get away from the office for a while, things haven't been going well for the last couple of weeks, I'm in over my head, and I'm so damn overwhelmed ...
  • @cu97tiger, That sounds so fun! What I wouldnt give for a day in the sun on a boat! I hope you have a great time!
I have a midterm in pathology, so thats mostly what my weekend will be about. And I know I will label myself forever as a dork when I say this, but Pokemon X and Y also come out on saturday, and that will be taking up a nice fat chunk of my weekend as well!
@southernpeach89, Maybe you can steer her towards something 'tastefully' glitzy? lol!

  • @cu87tiger, that is probably my favorite episode of Saved By The Bell!

This weekend BF's mom will be at our house recovering from surgery, so nothing else planned except making sure she is pain-free and happy. Sunday night we'll bring her back to her apartment and a visiting nurse will come see her once a day until she's back on her feet.

  • To quote Shoes, I get to meet the "Hoars of the Midwest" on Saturday.  I'm pretty excited!  After our GTG, one of my girlfriends is throwing a New Years party.   She's had a rough year with two deaths in the family, and her house is turning into a bigger money pit than expected.  So she decided to start the "year" over and throw a party.  I'm trying find an outfit that is sparkly party appropriate, but not too blinged out to meet the ladies.

I also plan on buying a new buffet for the dining room.  We had some wedding cards come in the mail this week, and I decided our entertaining pieces need their own home.   I may pick up a new rug for the living room, too.  H is giving me free reign to pick things out.  Yay!

Sunday, I want to Marathon watch and cheer for the friends running.  I just haven't figured out where yet.  Getting around certain points of the city can be a challenge during the race.  So I need a serious plan in place before I will step out of the house.

@suzie211 I will be watching the marathon as well - trying to cheer on my friends (which reminds me that I still need to stop somewhere and get posterboard to make signs!)  I am sticking to the red line only - not even attempting ANY bus.

Dinner tomorrow with a couple of friends right after work, and then FINALLY taking some time to relax if I can... these past few weeks have been too stressful!!

  • This weekend we have have a benefit dinner to go to for a lady at BF's job who found out she has cancer, I was supposed to babysit my little brother and my dad's GF's son but I had to cancel because I have to work Sunday 11-7, which is unfortunate because that is the whole day!
  • I have a hockey game tomorrow night, and then soccer and hockey on Saturday, so I'll be at work most of the day. Sunday is event free, however, so it will be a day of relaxing and football! BF & I want to go see "Gravity," so we might do that around the Patriots game.

  • I got excited for a minute thinking that today is Friday. Sigh.

I don't have any big plans for the weekend. H and I might go apple and pumpkin picking if he doesn't work on Saturday. Sunday my Eagles play at 1 so I'll be at the bar for that. And THANK THE LAWD I am off on Monday for Columbus Day! I plan on not moving from my couch all day.

  • BF is coming up tonight because he has to take a test early tomorrow to determine if he is qualified for a job. I'm really hoping this goes well. Looking for a job sucks.

We don't have a lot of other plans for the weekend but we are going to go to a corn maze on Saturday.

  • YAY almost weekend!

Saturday, we're heading to my future in-laws' house to help paint (house exterior) and to celebrate my future father-in-law's birthday, which is Sunday. Game 1 of the ALCS is Saturday night, so I assume we'll be watching some/most of the game that night as well :D

Sunday, my partner and I are driving up to New Hampshire/Maine for my friend's wedding!!!! I am way excited for it. This isn't the first wedding my partner and I have been to together, but his brother's wedding was such a messy stressful wedding. Now that we're planning our wedding and going to a wedding that will be somewhat similar to ours, we'll be able to get some ideas. And also there's an open bar and a shuttle to and from the hotel (driiiinkiiiiing).

Monday is a day off, but we'll be driving back so we won't be home till mid-afternoon.

  • Thank God it's almost the weekend!  Saturday DH works all day so I'll go to the gym and then clean or start staining my pallets for my project!  Saturday night my GF's are taking me out for my bday.  Sushi and then a bar probably.  Sunday will probably be spent grocery shopping and then watching football.  Being a niner fan and living in the middle time zone is NOT working out so well!

  • Studying and working all weekend. Brief break for dinner with a friend on Saturday night. It won't be the most fun, but PAYCHECK. Yay.
  • Today is Friday! YAY! Today I'm working from home which is totally awesome. I'm meeting my mom and the person who helped refer me to my job for lunch today in between 50 gazillion teleconferences. Tonight @southernpeach89 and I are finally going shopping for her birthday gift from me and then we're going out to the Cheesecake Factory with her FI and my BF for drinks. Saturday is more shopping. Hoping to find a MOB dress for my mom. We're going with my BFF and her sister who's also getting married and their mom. She needs to find accessories for her MOB outfit and then we're all going out for lunch together. I don't have my other plans this weekend. BF is on call so he basically feels like he needs to be logged in on his work laptop with his phone at the ready for the entire weekend even though his boss has specifically told him he doesn't have to do that. So basically, we aren't going anywhere and I hope to get a lot done around the house. I'm behind on cleaning because the focus all week has been yard work.

  • PARTNER IS SICK D:D:D:D:

He's working on a HUGE symposium at work, so he can't leave early. We have a wedding on Sunday, and he's worried about it. I told him it's okay--he can stay in the hotel if he's too sick to go. But still, we're worried.
