Hello! This is my first forum post ever! I'm running into a snafu with wedding planning and was hoping someone in this online community could help. My fiance is Catholic, and it's very important to him that the wedding take place in a Catholic Church, however, he doesn't currently belong to a parish (while I'm not Catholic, that hasn't been the big problem). We are looking at having our wedding either at Gibson's or Salvatore's, but we haven't been able to locate a pretty church within walking distance that will allow us to set a date without being current parishoners.
Does anyone have any tips/suggestions for Catholic churches in those neighborhoods that might let us set a date without being current parishoners?
Many thanks!!!
Allison
Re: Help finding Catholic Church that doesn't require you to be a current parishoner
Assumption Church (http://assumption-chgo.org/) which is in the River Northish area (its near the merchandise mart) - there is a mortons relatively close by.
Holy Family -( http://www.holyfamilychicago.org/) this chuch is in the Little Italy neighborhood & I got married there. It is sa huge, old cathedral (actually the 2nd oldest church in chicago) - it's gorgeous, hoever it would not be walking distance
