inexpensive venues for small wedding in dallas metro

Hi all,
Im looking for inexpensive venues for a small wedding consisting of 30 guest. Me and my fiance just want something small and intimate but still very elegant. We are looking for a venue somewhere in the dallas/ft worth area and that will also allow for outside catering. We have a very small budget. Does anyone have any good suggestions?? Thanks

  • Winfrey Point and the Dallas Heritage Center might be some good places to start. With a guest list that small, have you thought about a B&B or maybe a suite at a hotel? I don't know how much it is to rent, but the Penthouse Suite at the Stoneleigh is beautiful and has this gorgeous large terrace.

Frisco Heritage Center is also very nice. I would also try looking at community centers (The Red Oak Municipal building comes to mind)

With a small budget and a wedding of that size, have you considered a restaurant?  Many local restaurants have private rooms with no fee and you just basically reserve it and pay for the meal + gratuity.  If you need a ceremony location as well, we could suggest some.  We also had a Knottie actually get married at the restaurant she used (Ferrari's Italian Villa).  I think her guest size was around 50.

This actually may be a more cost-effective route to go because they will provide everything for you.  It's certainly worth looking into.

ETA:  My boss had his wedding at the Stoneleigh penthouse for 75 people but the hotel's $16K minimum still applied.
  • For my brother's rehearsal dinner last year (out of town), my mom rented a large house with a big backyard for the event. She rented tables and brought them in, and it was really beautiful, plus it was the same place stayed that weekend. Try vrbo.com if that's something you're interested in.
Granted you may not want to spend your wedding night there, if you have any OOT guests, or just anyone that wants to stay the night, it might work out.
  • You could check out Times Ten Cellars in Lakewood (they have a private room) or Event 1013 in Plano.

Absolutely agree with Stephie on a restaurant. Luckily, Dallas and Fort Worth have some amazing restaurants with beautiful decor.<div>OP, the El Fenix downtown Dallas location rooftop room and patio. It is a $1000 minimum on Friday/Sunday and $1500 minimum on Saturday. They provide everything (tables/chairs/linens/silverware) and have charge $10.95 a person for 3 hours unlimited alcohol and their buffet menu starts from $11.95 a person. You wouldn't need to rent anything except for decorations. <div>
</div><div>Ouch! I am sure it was beautiful though! I absolutely love it! <div>

Oh gosh, was it ever.  It was one of my choices but they filled my date before I could even go see it.  And, to be fair, my boss was able to negotiate the minimum down to $12K since it was such a small wedding.
  • Consider Maggiano's.  I was in the big room and there was a pretty big minimum ($5K for about people), but they have smaller rooms and you can customize many of their packages.  We used the one at North Park.
  • thank you all for your help. I am thinking a restuarant or hotel might be my cheapest route for the amount of people im having.

This depends on if you like art, but at one point my mom and I were thinking about having the reception at a gallery. She had the name of one on Dragon st. With your size party rentals would probably be reasonably priced because you would have to bring it in yourself.

I don't know how inexpensive you're talking about, but check out Providence Place over in Rockwall.  It was a little small for us, but it's nice converted house with a really pretty outdoor spot if you wanted an outdoor ceremony.  They also allow outside catering, and even with their catering it was a good price.

Edit: Maggiano's minimum is $1800.  We looked into the rehersal dinner there, and they told us that was the minimum for room rental, even with only 20 people.

  • Just want to say el fenix has went up a lot since the bride above had her wedding.  They now have a 2k minimum and 200 service charge.  They also charge 1k if you want the ceremony on their patio area too.  We considered them but in 2013 they hiked the prices.  Their meals start at 17.95 per person.

I would also suggest times ten in dallas or fort worth (we are going with the fort worth location) you can use your own catering and you can also bring in your own beer and spirits you just have to buy their wine.  It's one of the cheapest we found.

  • You could easily have your ceremony at the Fort Worth Botanical gardens for really cheap and then go to a local restaurant.
