Thank you cards

Maybe a stupid question but: Is it rude if some thank you cards are different from the others? I ran out of the ones I bought and only have a few left to write so I was just going to use blank notecards I already have. It seems silly to go out and by a whole other box of fifty so they match when I have plenty of perfectly good notecards here, but I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't tacky or anything. I'm probably overthinking this, right? I'm just super paranoid about appearing rude to people.

Re: Thank you cards

  • No, I seriously doubt your guests are going to compare thank-you cards to make sure they are all on the same notecards. Go ahead and use the ones you have.
  • It's fine! I used multiple ones and I think the variety helped the task feel less monotonous.

    This.
  • Thanks guys! I knew I was being silly, it was just one of those little things my brain decided to freak out about. :)
  • It's fine. What's they will remember more is if they got one or not.
  • Yeah, people will pay more attention to whether they got a thank-you note, if it was timely, and if it was graciously worded (not just "thanks for the X") than the actual stationery you write it on.
  • No biggie.  We sent out a couple that were different, since we got some gifts so late out.  It's the note that's important, not what the card looks like

  • I can honestly say that I would not compare the thank you card I got with one someone else got.  The most important thing is to do them. Doesn't matter if they're different.
  • Your guests are not like my undergraduates when I hand back tests and quizzes. They will not compare the stationery.

I feel you! I am doing this for everything, and I only just started planning. It is going to be a long year. But like the others said, I don't think the cards matter. It's nice that you are sending thank you cards and that's what counts. At least you're not sending the last few in a text message lol!
