How did you feel when you tried your dress on when it came in?

I just got the exciting news that my dress has been delivered to the salon! I haven't seen it in six months (seven by the time I get home to claim it) and am super excited about seeing it again. I feel like I am going to see an old friend.

To help tie me over until I can get to the salon, I would love to hear your stories about trying your dress on for the first time after you ordered it. Was it as you remembered? Better? I hope not worse!

  • I only ordered mine about a month ago, so I haven't had that opportunity yet, but can imagine how excited i'll be.   they told me as soon as I get "the call" I can come in anytime, no appointment necessary and I plan on having my shoes ready to go asap!   I can't wait to see it again and try on a dress that is my size!   I am a little nervous about the size.  they ordered the same size that I wear in everyday life and I thought most dresses ran small.  they took my measurements and went off that, and I'm sure they know what they are doing but still makes me a bit scared lol!  good luck, hope it's everything you remember it to be!!!
  • I just picked mine up on Wednesday. It was awesome, and totally cemented why it was my dress in the first place. I went by myself, because it seemed silly to ask anyone to waste time on such a quick appointment. The dress was nearly perfect (still too big on top), and beautiful. I got to see myself in the dress in the color I wanted that they didn't have in the store, and the dress I tried on was about 6 sizes too big, so it was cool to get a better idea of what the back will look like. It was fun. Though now it's taking up half the closet in my spare room.

  •  I ordered my dress from the U.S, (I'm from Canada), & it was shipped to me 2 months or so after I had ordered it. I fell in *love* with the sample dress, & was super excited to get my new one in! I was *sooo* excited to have the dress at home, but unfortunately, it's one of those dresses that you can't just get on yourself. I received my dress September-October-ish, and I didn't try it on until the New Year, when I had my very first fitting. *Longest wait everrr!* It was the best feeling to get it on, & remember every reason why I fell in love with it in the first place! :)

  • I was able to take my dress home the day I picked it. That was end of August. I probably will not try it on again until December when it's my fitting.

  • I only had to wait 3 weeks to try my dress after finding the sample and trying it on and then another 6 weeks after alterations and every time I put it on, I fall in love with it all over again! It's at my mom's house because I would probably stare it constantly, haha!

  • I received my dress about 3 or so months after I ordered it and I feel in love with it again just like I did the first time.  Its an amazing feeling to know the exact dress that you try on again is the one you will walk down the aisle in!
  • I ended up getting a dress they already had in stock. My mom is paying for the dress, so she is making payments on it until next month when we will take it with us to go get alterations. So I haven't seen my dress since August!!!! I can't wait to put it back on next month!
  • I received mine 3 months after I ordered it.

I was afraid that I wasn't going to like it on me anymore. As if my style or something changed? I was silly of course cuz now every time I have to put it back on (for the shoes, corset, etc.) I get all happy and excited. Still love it.

My reaction was not the typical crying though. I usually don't think this about myself but when I see myself in the mirror with my dress on "I am going to be a very beautiful bride" is what I think to myself. Such a wonderful feeling. =D

  • Mine came in four months after I bought it (2 months early too)  I had to wait a whole month from the time they called me telling me it was in, to when I was able to be home to try it on (bought my dress in my home town, I live 4 hours away). The day I tried it on I was so excited--4 o'clock just could not come fast enough!  Anyway, I saw it and loved it even more than I did when said yes to the dress.  I did not want to take it off.  Every time I saw my dress/ had a fitting I just loved it more and more.  Now, I see it just sitting in my closet and I wish I could wear it again... I told my husband not to be surprised if I dress up in it one night for dinner at home, lol.
