FMIl went in for her second surgery for her colon cancer. They removed one of her ovaries and all the cancerous tissue and growth. FI and I visited her numerous times in the hospital to keep her and Step Father company. Her tests have been coming up negative so for now she's in the clear. FMIL and Step Dad are back at home. FI and I are going to visit them this weekend so we can help Step Dad around the house.
Through all of this FMIL has been a real trooper. She as never lost her sense of humor and sends me pictures of different outfits she's considering for the wedding. She's a really great woman who loves her family deeply. When I came into this relationship with FI I had low expectations about getting along with the FILs. Being welcomed into the family has been wonderful bonus, something I didn't imagine I would get to experience.
