Wedding Invitations & Paper

Please answer my stupid Vista Print question...

Stupid question:  Do the Vista Print invites come with envelopes?  What do they look like?  Do they include any inserts or do those need to be separate?  I just realized I literally know nothing about wedding invitations other than what not to write on them!

Thanks :)

  • As you're finishing up placing your order there's a couple of screens giving you different add-on options, including envelopes.

  • AAAH ok, so I just haven't gotten that far.  I thought there would be something in the description somewhere, but alas no.  Thank you @Dreamergirl8812!

  • The envelopes I've seen from Vistaprint are equivalent to those boxed kids Valentine's cards.  Really cheap looking,  I do not know if they offer upgraded ones but I highly suggest paying the difference if they do. There are a lot of places that sell good quality envelopes.
  • They come with plain white ones.  I upgraded to matching ones with the design on the outside and return address printed on the back.  As you finish your order they'll also offer up matching thank you cards, place cards, etc.
  • Thanks everyone - the upgraded envelopes look well worth the price.  All told, it's still under $200 even with the envelopes, save the date and RSVPs :)

  • I just love Vista print! Keep them in mind for xmas. I send xmas postcards i make on their site. They always turn out nice and postcard stamps save money. :)

  • I just received my STD magnets from vista print with envelopes. The magnets were absolutely AMAZING, but I was a little disappointed with the envelopes. Black smudges were on a couple of them, a few corners were folded over, and they were definitely cheap.  So, what someone recommended about buying nicer ones was a great idea! However, since these were just STD's, and I had bought a few extra in case some envelopes were bad, I just stuck to mine,  For my invitations, though, I WILL be buying nicer envelopes.

I am still in love with Vista Print!

Call them up and tell them about the envelope issue, they'll send you replacements. I order from them a lot and whenever I have a complaint or issue they make it right.

Make sure you check and use the proper postage amount, sometimes the magnets are heavy and require more. You also might want to pay for hand cancel bc they have been known to stick to the metal machinery at times.

    GL! :)

  • I already checked, and they don't require extra postage (thank goodness!!). But I NEVER thought about it sticking to the metal machinery!!! Unfortunately, I already sealed and addressed the envelopes, so it is too late to ask for replacements, I am glad that I bought some extra, though!

A bit late on this, but for anyone with the same question: VP at least used to have a free wedding sample kit that one can order and see what the different papers, etc. are like.

They still do; I ordered one today. We've used VP for business items for years but I hadn't thought about trying them for formal stationery or STDs.
