Can we talk about Cheesecake Factory?

Last night, while still on my girls weekend, we went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory.  While waiting for our table we were lingering in front of the cake case oohing and ahhing over the cakes.  And then it hit me.   Instead of doing the generic, white cake we haven't even made the deposit on on yet, we could buy 3-4 whole cheesecakes in different flavors for about the same price, no more than $30ish more. So for dessert the girls and I did an impromptu tasting and unilaterally decided I should change directions for dessert.   Talked to FI and he is 100% on board with this plan.

SO.... help us choose our flavors.

We will for sure do vanilla bean  and the lemoncello tort.

We can't decide on the third flavor.   Wedding is November 2  and we have a very fall menu planned.   We are also serving a dark chocolate mousse so we should stay away from the heavy chocolate flavors.

The other flavors jumping out at me are the pumpkin pecan, red velvet, apple struessel (except FI can't eat this one because of the walnuts), white chocolate caramel macadamia nut, white chocolate raspberry,

What's your favorite CF flavor?  What are your thoughts on #3?

Re: Can we talk about Cheesecake Factory?

  • DH and I think the carrot cake cheesecake is to die for - but I would die for just about any of the desserts there.  The lemoncello torte makes me very happy.
  • I would vote white chocolate raspberry for your third choice.
  • I went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory yesterday too, for the first time in years.  I got the pumpkin pecan cheesecake.  I wouldn't really recommend it.  My BIL got some sort of peanut butter one (not the one called Reese's), and my sister got the S'mores one.  BIL liked his, though I didn't try it; sister's was meh.  I almost got the mango key lime cheesecake, which sounded good to me.

I don't know how helpful that is, but there you go.

  • I wish we had CF here.  We go when we're in Hawaii and it's super yummy.  But I'm down for the White chocolate raspberry if you're already doing a chocolate mousse

  • I vote for white chocolate raspberry as well. The red velvet one isn't great. And pumpkin makes me rage (seriously, I feel like everything gets hijacked by the Great Orange Menace every Fall), and I'm not too keen on nuts in my cheese cake.

I usually get the chocolate chip cookie dough one.

  • I also vote for the white chocolate raspberry. Definitely make sure about allergies (coconut, peanut, etc.) & when you order the cakes let them know about any food allergies so they are aware that no cross contamination is alright.

I know that it happens but when they know an allergic reaction might happen I've noticed they are more careful when preparing.

  • First time at CF, I asked the server what the top seller was: white chocolate raspberry! I've had it many times since and love love love it. I'd replace the vanilla one with that, and then get one in one of your colors, like maybe the girls' dress color.
  • I'm a fan of the apple streusel, but the white chocolate raspberry is good, too.  They also have a lemon-raspberry which is lighter and, IMO, better than the white chocolate raspberry one.
  • Just had to say this is seriously making me want CF now....thanks ladies =P!!!!

  • We did cheesecake for our wedding cake.  We found a bakery that actually makes them look like wedding cakes.  Our flavors were plain with a strawberry mousse between the two layers. Lemon with raspberry between their two layers, and the top/smallest layer was chocolate/chocolate.  The only time our cheesecakes were frozen was to put them together to layer and decorate, then refrigerated.  Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes are made in a warehouse, frozen, shipped, and kept frozen until needed.  I have no idea on how old they really are when placed at my table.  You could probably find a local bakery that will make you the cheesecakes for about the same price and you would know they are fresh.
  • Ok, after looking up the raspberry-lemon, I think we may replace the lemon torte with that.  The vanilla bean ain't going nowhere.  Nope.  Uh-uh.  Here to stay.  I'm kind of a vanilla bean freak.  I love the idea of getting one to go with our colors (no wedding party so no girl's dresses) but our colors are dark brown and turquoise that that pretty much ends up being  dead end since we want to avoid anything else chocolate.

Anyone had the  Dulce de Leche Carmel flavor?  Carmel might be a good fall flavor without going all out to pumpkin.

  • My two go-to flavors there are white chocolate raspberry and caramel pecan turtle.  Both are delicious and you can't really go wrong either way.
  • White chocolate Carmel mac nut!

  • This thread makes me sad because I've never been to CF. There isn't one within a 5 hour drive of me.
  • I hate cheesecake, but I sure do love CF.  In fact, H and I just went there this past Saturday.

  • Red velvet for sure!

I'm sorry you can't eat cheesecake but thank you for saying this. We probably need to go back to the lemon torte cake in case any of our guests can't. I'm sure we can get some raspberry sauce on the side for it.

I actually think cheesecake is fine if thats what you want. I'd be a disappointed, sad guest who was longing for cake, but I feel the same way when people only have chocolate cake as an option.

If it were me and I was going for cheesecakes, I'd probably display each flavor on an individual cake stand and have at least one non-dairy/chocolate based dessert as an option too. It would look like a table of the stuff dessert dreams are made of.

  • my favorite is the chocolate tuxedo!  So good.  Best to have a variety and you know there will be be chocolate lovers!   The best part is it is not too chocolatey (if that makes sense). Great mix between chessecake and mousse.  Damn now I want CF!  I miss that place so much!  I have to go to CF every time I am in my hometown because where I live does not have one.
