SILK FLOWERS?!?!

so a friend of mine whos been in the floral business for many years just suggested silk flowers.......... specifically the website afloral.com she told me they have come a LONG way and are not similar to what you see at the dollar store.. rather made of like a life like latex material?!! im looking at the site, and there are really pretty options-- especially since hydrangeas arent in season during my wedding... im wondering tho, are these prices like too good to be true?! has anyone used them.. are they pretty and life like?!?! 

I dont much care about the flowers at my weddding.. so its something im really considering!!... anyone?! anyone!?

    I used silk flowers in my hair because I didn't want them to die, but everything else was real. The ones I used in my hair were very small (lilies of the valley). IMO, the bigger the flower, the more obvious it is that it's not real. Personally I wouldn't use them, but it's just a preference. Some people prefer them.

    I think you should go look at them in person - even McDonald's can make their food look good in advertisements. See what they look like IRL and make your decision from there.

    Real touch flowers are pretty awesome, and they look lifelike provided no one touches them. They are a great option if you want to resell some or all of the flowers after the wedding as well. If you are really considering them, buy a stem and see if it's something you are really interested in.

    I have not used flowers from that website, but if your friend is in the floral business why not use her?  Personally, I can still tell the difference and dislike fake flowers.

    Hobby Lobby has gorgeous silk flowers of the highest quality I have seen in stores. I'm using them in all the bouquets and bouts if I go that route for the guys.

    Can you place a small order of a few of the flowers you would like to use to see what they look like before placing a big order? I had found a silk flower site where everything looked beautiful online. They offered sample bouquets for $20.00. I figure if I liked them it would be a good $20.00 investment. Well it turned out to be a good investment, because I hated how cheap the flowers looked when I got the mini bouquet. It saved me from getting the whole order shortly before my wedding and having to use flowers I didn't like. This company may have better quality, only one way to find out though.
