Wedding Woes

Crawling out of my hole.

Guess who thought The Lord was going to call her home this weekend.

<me>

GI infection....no more words needed.

The sad part is I've had food poisoning like symptoms three times in three months. I'm going to see a specialist, yo. I can't handle another round of this again. This one was different because it's lasted longer than two days.

I'm scared to eat anything. <rubs my tummy>

Re: Crawling out of my hole.

  • You poor thing!  :(  I hope the specialist can get you straightened out because being miserable so often is no fun at all.
  • OMFG, that's RIDICULOUS nola.

    I wouldn't blame you for forgoing food for awhile....or just casting a healthy side-eye.  What was it attributed to?
  • ugh.  BRAT diet?

    I hope you find tasty food that doesn't hate your guts.
  • TMI:

    I went to the ER because I saw blood in my vomit and the pain was like nothing I have ever experienced.

  • Poor kid.  Any pain?

  • Just saw your TMI.  This sort of reminded me of the start of my gallbladder.
  • NOLA -- take care of yourself! there is only one nola.

  • NOLA, that alone makes me want to cry.  :(
  • 6, you think/

    They asked about my gallbladder. I have to get it checked.

  • Have you kept a food diary at all?  I know diverticulitis can get that bad sometimes.
  • I'm going to start. It happened when I went to the Virgin Islands, but I was the only one that got sick. Then, it happened when I ate Mexican in Aug, and now last weekend.

    I'm over it.

  • V, that doesn't sound good. Let's hope it's not that.

  • Certain foods can trigger a gallbladder attack.  The pain was like nothing I've ever experienced.  I took more Vicodin during an attack than I did after my open appendectomy.  It also felt like terrible reflux at times and I'd have terrible vomiting and diarrhea.  I didn't have stones, but my gallbladder just wasn't functioning.

    They also checked me for diverticulitis.

  • Yes, the pain. I just prayed, no lie. I don't have anything for pain, so I just dealt with it for about four hours.  I drove to the ER when I finally had enough energy. This all happened about 3:00 am, so I didn't call anybody.

  • I'm so, so sorry.  My attacks were always at night too.
  • That sounds quite similar to what my mom went through before they took her gallbladder out.  I hope you can get relief soon.
  • TMI ALERT::

    My mom was watching my kids and I came home to her white as a ghost saying she needed to call my dad to get her.  It was logistically ridiculous.  She wanted to go home so I drove her to her ED.  She was puking in a bag the entire 45 min ride (that is normally 75 mins).  I was 6 wks pg with Max and doing everything in my power not to puke while driving.

    That was her last gallbladder attack.

  • When I go to the GI doc, I'll let him know what my internet friends said. Check the ol' gallbladder.
