Sunday Morning Brunch

Any one doing a sunday morning brunch to open gifts and visit with family members who traveled? We were going to have one at our reception place but it was gonna cost $12/person. I think we will do one at our house- that way everyone (family) can see our house and what not. But I'm little worried about having to cook for 20+ people the day after the wedding. Any suggests to ease to worry?

    We ended up deciding against it. But if I were you I would see what kinda of stuff you can bring in like bagels, fruit trays, pastries, etc. I would try and make it as easy on yourself as possible :)

    We're actually throwing my grandparents a surprise 50th anniversary brunch under the guise of doing a brunch for us.  :)  It will be at a local restaurant.

    I agree with PP though, I would definitely bring in food.  You are *not* going to want to cook for that many people the day after you get married!

    We don't check out of our hotel until noon.  I'm sure we'll meet up for lunch with everyone but it hasn't been discussed yet.

    We're planning to do a gift opening the day after, probably we'll just have finger foods, like left over desserts from the night before, but we don't have all the details yet.

    We are hosting brunch at our house the Sunday after as well. Cooking after the wedding just didn't seem like an option for me though so we are ordering breakfast tacos and fruit salad from a nearby restaurant.

    Most of our relatives are from out of town. FI's immediate family will be tied up hosting several cousins from out of town who are staying at their house a few days after the wedding. My parents are moving the week after our wedding from Southern California to Northern California. So we know people will be busy. We will probably open our gifts on Sunday and invite our parents but they may not come. 

    We originally planned a lunch at FMIL's house but thought it would be kinda awkward with all the extra people, we just wanted our immediate family.

    Yup.. No gifts though.. Mostly a send off bfast.. Ours is 19 a person which stings a bit with a minimum or 80 going. But we have that many staying in the hotel. It's more of a casual buffet

    My mother is hosting a family brunch with just OOT and local family members at their house. Both FI and I have large families that live outside of the state so this will be a great time for us to visit with them since we never get to see them. We also plan to do gift opening during this time as well. We won't leave for our honeymoon until the day after the brunch so it will be nice to relax at home for another day w/o having to run around.

    His parents are hosting a brunch for everyone who is staying at the hotel the next morning.  It won't be to open gifts though, that will be private.
