Need help with dress!

I need an outside opinion on these dresses!  I am having a southern wedding in the fall of next year.   The wedding will take place in a catholic cathedral (very large!).  I love both of these dresses, but am torn on which one I like better (and no, unfortunately I cannot get both!)  Any input would be greatly appreciated :)

Re: Need help with dress!

  • I like #1 better. It's much more visually interesting.

#2 is kind of blah and plain. If you had your heart set on it, you could dress it up by buying a belt, a unique veil and/or accessorizing.

I can't see your face in either picture, but which one were you happier in? Which one was more comfortable? Go with that.

  • #1. I like the actual dress #2, but I just don't think it does anything for you. #1 looks amazing on you.
  • Thanks ladies!  I am so in love with the second dress.  It is what I always envisioned.  But then I put on the one in the first picture and really like it too!  I worry about the first one being so tight on my backside and people looking at my back through the whole ceremony (not my most flattering side!).  I have over a year left.. so I may try them both on again.  We did jazz up number 2 with a veil and a lace bolero and a nice pearl brooch, but the picture was a little fuzzy.  Thanks for the help :).  It's nice to have an outside opinion, as my mother and BMs already knew which one I liked best and answered to agree with me.

Number 1 is much more flattering.  I have the same body type as you, and originally wanted a ball gown/a-line, but once I started trying on dresses found fit and flares to be much more flattering on me.  They are slimming and elongating.

ETA: If you get the right size and have it properly fitted, the 1st dress shouldn't be too tight on your backside.
  • I like the second dress better by itself, but the first one looks better on you.

  • I prefer dress #2, actually.  You should get a dress that you love, and it sounds like you "love" dress #2.

  • The first one looks much much better on you then the second one. Its just more flattering. I feel like the 2nd one makes you look like a cream puff, no offense :)
  • Both dresses are nice, and I'm not if it's how you are standing, the angle of the photo, but I think dress #1 is much more figure flattering on you. I'm not saying this to be mean, but I think dress #2 hides your shape and makes you look larger then you are.
  • I like dress 1, it is very flattering on you.  Dress 2 makes you look much larger then you actually are.

  • Love 2.  Plain maybe but pretty and elegant.
  • I love #1 on you.  I think the bodice being fitted lower is really flattering on you.

  • I'm not crazy about pickups, but I think the silhouette of dress one is much more flattering. I think the waistline of dress two is much too high for you.
  • Dress 1 is definitely more flattering on you :)
  • I love the first dress

  • Totally your call! I think the first one flatters your figure more though.
  • I think the first one is more flattering on you.  Not a big fan of the skirt, but that's personal preference.
