Reception - What am I forgetting?

I've done all my wedding planning by myself.  It's ben fairly easy with The Knot's list to help me. but, I am a month out from the wedding, and I have this feeling I am forgetting the stuff I need for the reception.  I haven't really found lists for what I need for that.  I have DJ, Caterer, Cake, cake cutter, flutes for us to toast.  That's about it... Maybe there's a list that someone knows where I can find one?

Help please?

Re: Reception - What am I forgetting?

  • So you have food, music and a cake.  Do you have the bar covered?  Because besides decor that is really all you need.

You can, of course, add in something fun like a photobooth but that is certainly not necessary. Most guests just want good food, good music and good drinks and they will be happy.

  • Does your DJ, DOC, caterer, etc have a copy of the day-of itinerary? Other than food/drink, music and seating, this is really all you NEED.

Do you have a layout for whoever is setting up? Linens, decor, table numbers, escort cards, vendor confirmations, auxiliary tables (for cake, guest book, etc.), card box, favors (if doing), a plan for who is taking gifts away from the reception for you... that's all I can think of right now.

  • If you are doing a limo for church/reception, do you have a ride home planned out?

  • if you want it: escort cards or place cards/seating chart; centerpieces (unless venue takes care of that).  We had the guest book table at the reception and it had picture frames with wedding pics of my parents, MIL, and grandparents along with a framed engagement pic of us.  a card box for the gift table?
