Save the date -> multi day events.

Hi,
We are getting married in Santorini, Greece on May 3rd (Saturday), 2014.  We would like take guests on a tour of the island and volcano on May 2nd and for brunch on May 4th.  The ceremony would be on May 3rd.  How should we write the date on our Save The Date card? Should we say

* May 3rd, 2014
* May 2nd - 4th, 2014

Thoughts?

Re: Save the date -> multi day events.

  • Hi, and welcome! We're also planning events for our guests over several days. Our save the dates say "the weekend of August 17th", which is the actual date of the wedding ceremony and reception. Maybe you could do the same? :) Good luck!

  • Im not sure about your std design but ours had our wedding ceremony date on the front then on the back we wrote a little blurb about the weekend.

    We also put information on our wedding website about the pre/post wedding events.

  • Congratulations! And that sounds amazing :)

    We are hosting events over multiple days but when we sent out our save the dates we just put the date of the ceremony. Our guest list is small enough (20-25) that we have been able to let people know by word of mouth + email + website that there are other opportunities for guests to join us at hosted events.

    I think any of the options you listed are great--if you thought people might not plan their travel to be present for the Friday events you might specifically list that up front...
