We finally finished choosing most of our songs today. The only major one to pick is the father/daughter dance. For the ceremony we'll just be using a cd and player, and we'll be having a dj at the reception.
Entrance: Pachelbel's Canon in D
Recessional: Wedding March by the London Symphony Orchestra
Reception entrance: Home by Phillip Phillips
First Dance: At Last by Etta James
Cake Cutting: Ice Cream by Sarah McLachlan
Bouquet Toss: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper
Garter Toss: Put Another Log on the Fire by Tompall Glasser This one is very tongue-in-cheek, my FFIL keeps suggesting this as our first dance song, and we couldn't find a song we liked for the garter toss, so I jokingly suggested it to my FI as the garter toss, and he laughed at first, but as we thought about it, decided it could make for a very funny moment.
Here is my short list of Father/Daughter dance songs, I'm going to share it with my dad, and hopefully together we can choose one.
- My Little Girl by Tim McGraw
- Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle
- Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion
- You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker
- The Way You Look Tonight by Steve Tyrell (from father of the bride)
