It has recently come to my attention that I planned my wedding during Comic Con, which is a HUGE deal every summer in San Diego. With all the excitement, working around already reserved days at my two venues, and making sure I wasn't planning it during a holiday or a time when it would be difficult for people to travel, somehow one of our biggest events slipped my mind and now it's too late to change everything. So my problem is that hotels will be at skyrocket prices and will book up faster than you can imagine. I'm already working on finding rates at a variety of places in the area and possibly reserving a block of rooms. My question is this: I'm setting up my wedding website. Should I admit my mistake, warn them of the prices and urge my guests to book a room ASAP or should I, in a positive way, urge them to book ASAP and mention that it's Comic Con weekend and use this as a point of interest for their stay? For example, "While you're in town, we recommend checking out the Comic Con madness downtown. Even if you don't have tickets for the convention, the people watching is second to none!"
Thanks in advance!
