Best places for MOB/MOG shopping?

MOB/FMIL LOVED the salon experience looking at my stuff but are a bit apprehensive about their own attire. Neither owns anything more formal than standard church clothes and they want to shop too. FMIL, especially, rarely dresses up and is petite so I would love to find a store that is reasonably priced, carries age-appropriate but not frumpy options, and offers a variety of sizes. Stylist service would be a great bonus. Anything to recommend?

I think their best option is to begin by looking online for ideas. I hate shopping and prior to my children marrying, honestly did not own a dress. I hate them.

The majority of dresses I found online were available at major department stores such as Nordstrom, Macy's, Lord & Taylor, and Neiman Marcus. I had the most success at Nordstrom, and purchased both dresses there. I was able to order the dresses online and try them in the privacy of my home. Their return policy is easy and accommodating.

My MOB dress had a navy lace pattern over a nude undertone. I hated the "skin" look of it. The stylist at Nordstrom was able to get the dress with a navy on navy fabric. This particular designer has a lot of tailored, structured dresses without the frump, and is carried by the major department stores.....

My stepmother just bought her dress at Boscov's. It was on sale for $72 and looks amazing. They dont have a huge selection now because most of their dresses right now are for new years but they may have more after the holidays.
I would also try macys and davids bridal.

My mom tried on a beautiful dress at Nordstrom, but didn't purchase it. She said she doesn't want to buy until its closer and she wants to shop at other places. We did see a few at Macy's and she does want to try some local boutiques. Best bets are department stores. They have great selections and great sales.

Definitely check out department stores. My mom and FMIL both looked at department stores and found several dresses they liked. My mom even purchased one from Lord & Taylor, but returned it after she found something she liked better. Both moms ended up getting their dresses from a bridal salon, partially because they liked the personalized experience and they wanted to something unique.

MOB got hers at Macy's and MOG at Davids. Coincidentally, David's sells the same dress my mom got at Macy's. $189 at Davids. She paid $65 at Macy's. Shop around...

My mom didn't want a typical "mother of the bride" dress, so we looked at cocktail dresses at stores like J. Crew, Talbots, Macy's, Coldwater Creek, and Nordstrom.
