Re: SCAMS SCAMS SCAMS

  • I mean their english isn't the best but what, aside from that, raised your suspicions about this wording?

lemme ask that differently - you're not going to physically release the dress until payment in whatever form clears, what's risky about this?  I have paypal too so I was just being nosey :)
  • Everybody has posted that this email is popping up in the inbox and saying its a scam lol... but of course i trust paypal and nothing will be given until i get payment but uhhh if its multiple ppl saying these ppl are scams ill stick with them

  • I wouldn't say stuck, you like it remember? lol.
  • Well damn...
  • And after all that and that final email i sent no reply which further tells me they were up to something smh

  • That is a GUARANTEED scam. That same language is used all over the internet in scams. Whether it's buying a car, buying a laptop, you name it-that ploy has been used.

I've encountered this language and over seas crap many times before, especially on Craigslist
  • can somebody tell me how this works on anybody though?

if you're the seller you have merchandise that you don't release until you get a cleared payment, right? so when and how are you being cheated if you got the money?   I get it being a scam if you're the buyer, you don't have any assurance the item exists before paying.  but you're the seller and still getting cheated?

  • @sultryzulu I think the scam usually lies in getting people's information. Sometimes they'll ask for an address or bank number or something other info they can use in combination with your real name to steal identity or rack up petty charges. I was confused about the semantics as well because it doesnt make sense to me lol

girl that's the point of paypal, it works solely on your email address, none of your personal information is exchanged until or unless you release it, so honestly this still isn't a way to get scammed if you're the seller.  'ppreciatecha for trying to get it through my thick skull though. lol!
  • sultryzulu after i sent that email i havent gotten any other reply so that tells me right there they were up to no good...

I know before the Mr and I were looking to rent a house and we checked out Zillow.com well this one house was unbelievably beautiful and it had just enough rooms and space the person emailed me back with the foolishness talmbout o im out of the country and ill send you the keys just sent me the deposit and whatnot... me working for the light ppl... i looked them up and saw it wasnt even their house it belonged to someone else smh...scammers

  • @misstira - I've seen that scam come up so many times!!  You would be surprised how many people get taken by them all the time.

H & I had the same thing happen with a couple of houses we looked at last year and being the suspicious person I am, I looked up the people and they turne out to be fake and said exactly the same thing that they said to you. CRAZINESS!!!

  • And on top of all that i tried to take the ad down but i couldnt sooo here is another message i got today LOL LOL......

    RE: your ad

Thanks for the quick response and I'm satisfied with the condition of the ad, i will love to make an instant purchase because i'm buying this ad for my dad as a gift, I'm located in Nixa MO, but due to my occupation as a U.S. Army and right now i'm in camp in Egypt for peace keeping and i will be here for a while. I am buying this ad for my dad as a surprise gift for his birthday. I really want the ad to be a surprise for my dad by not disclosing the ad until the delivery is made to him, i'm sure he will be more than happy with the ad. I don't mind adding an extra 50 for you to take the advert down from the site so that i can be rest assured that i'm in hand of the ad, l will offer you the amount required and i can only pay you through PayPal at the moment as i don't have access to my bank account online (i don't have internet banking with it yet), but i have my bank account attached to my PayPal account, and this is why i insisted on using PayPal to pay, all i will need is your PayPal money request or PayPal email address to make the payments and i will be happy to pay PayPal charges, i will be expecting your PayPal email so i can make the payment. I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted.

    My Best Regard
    Kevin

Now Kevin what will you sweet dear daddy do with a wedding dress lol lol...... These ppl and there scams
