i just cant decide

i have been looking for bridesmaid dresses, all kinds! and of course the ones just dont come in the right colors! i'm also torn with do i want mismatch dresses or same dresses in different colors! mind u my wedding isn't very formal its going to be outside!

Re: i just cant decide

  • I like seeing the same color, but then letting the girls pick the style of dress they like best....this way they get something that looks good on them and they're comfortable with.  I assume you've tried David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo?

I like a uniform colour in either all the same dresses or different ones.  Just so you see what it might look like, here is a picture of mix-matched cuts:

ETA as PP said, if you haven't already you should look at David's Bridal  http://www.davidsbridal.com/Browse_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-All-Bridesmaid-Dresses

  • well my wedding colors and are green and purple, but the girls are wearing purple dresses! i picked this dress
for my bridesmaids but just wanted them to pick the shade of purple they wanted to be! im just not sure if that what i really want or to go with chiffon dresses  with different neckline and similar purples for them, cause my dress is going to lace!
  • I picked the color and they picked the style. I wanted them to feel comfortable because they were different sizes. you can always watch 'say yes to the dress, bridesmaids' its pretty funny. I like the picture the one girl posted above. that gives you a good idea what it may look like. Good luck!
  • Dessy After Six dresses come in pretty much every color ever. I'd suggest you give that a shot.

I'm also a fan of the "pick a color, each girl picks a dress" as it will flatter each girl the most and adds such interesting texture/visual lines in photos.
  • It's a new trend for the girls to not match. They are given some direction, i.e. general color guidance, but can pick pretty much anything they want. I liked this idea a lot, but I was afraid that they wouldn't look like bridesmaids. And at the reception they would blend in too much with the guests. But I still think it is a viable option for people who don't want to go super formal with matching dresses.

    Here's some examples:

Moral of the story is- you can do what ever you want! They can be in the exact same dress, they can be in the same color but different dresses, they can be in the same dress but different colors, they can be completely different! The sky is the limit.
