bridesmaids gift

For you ladies who know of or have worn sanuk yoga mat sandals, would this be a good bridesmaid gift? I am thinking of ordering them all the wedge sandal for when their feet get sore at the reception, they could change into a more comfortable heel.  I have emailed Sanuk and they are giving me a 20% one time discount to order for myself and bridesmaids. Would you like a gift like this?

Re: bridesmaids gift

  • I don't like wedge flip flops, and in general I don't like any shoe where my foot moves around when I walk.  Also, if you are getting something for your BMs to wear on your wedding day, it is not, IMO, part of their gift.

  • No, I don't think that would be a good bridesmaid gift.

I mean - they are just athletic flip flops at the end of the day. So no, not really, sorry.

ETA: I think if you want to give them comfy shoes to change into you buy cheapy old navy flip flops, and then save that extra $20 or so for a real personal gift.

  • I don't see a problem with giving sandals to your BMs to change into, but I wouldn't call them their "gift".
  • Personally I do not feel that sandals for the day-of can be considered a "gift".  From what I've learned on these boards, a BM gift should be similar to what you would purchase for a birthday/christmas present. For my girls I am doing different things for each one, example: A bottle of wine and two wine glasses for the one who loves wine.  If you still want to give them the sandals as an extra accessory for that day, then go for it! But most likely they will bring other shoes anyway if they are not super comfortable in their heels.

  • I'd pass on it. Shoes are a very personal thing.
  • I like PDKH's suggestion.  Buy cheap flip flops because that's really all they are.  Use the rest of the money you were going to spend on sandals on something each individual girl wants, not blanketed across all of them because I'm certain they have different interests.
  • No, I would not want that as a gift.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Nope, I like to pick my own shoes.  That said, I like the old navy cheapos in addition to a more personal gift for in case they forget to bring a pair for the reception, my MOH did that at her wedding and I loved it, I was done with my heels about halfway through the evening.
