Inexpensive bridesmaid dresses?

Hi all!
My wedding date is 11/1/14, but since several of my bridesmaids live out of town we are starting the search next month when several of them will be in the area. David's Bridal doesn't have the right color (I'm looking for a wine color, like Alfred Angelo's "claret"), and I would like to keep the dress around $150-$175, due to budget concerns for some of my bridesmaids. I also have no idea where to even begin looking. Any thoughts on where to look for something fairly inexpensive would be really appreciated! Thank you!

Re: Inexpensive bridesmaid dresses?

  • Check out Here Comes the Bridesmaids. They have a brick and mortar in NYC and an online site (http://www.bridesmaids.com/)

I'm making it an outing with my bridesmaids next week to go to lunch and then try on dresses in the store. But looking at their site - they have a lot of the main designers, but a fraction of the costs I've seen at any typical bridal store.
  • I would go to the city to RK Bridal and Here comes the bridesmaid. They are near each orher and have soooo many dresses. Your price point isnt that low. My bridesmaids wore Bari Jay and their dresses were $190 each and it included the alterations. We went to RK but Dolores bridal in Edison was cheaper.

  • Is there a reason you don't want to actually go to Alfred Angelo? Their flagship store is in Cherry Hill, NJ. I went there with my BMs and we had a really great experience. I think the most any of my girls paid was $175 and that was for a maternity dress.

  • Oh wow, thanks everyone! I had no idea the flagship Alfred Angelo was in Cherry Hill--I am in Middlesex County but that's not terribly far for a day trip. And Here Comes the Bridesmaids definitely sounds like a great place to visit!
  • Sorry, I misspoke. The store in Cherry Hill is a "Signature Store" not a "flagship store".

  • I went to the Cherry Hill Signature Store in Cherry Hill for my wedding dress.  I too live in Middlesex County and it took about an 1 1/2 to get there.  Not to bad and its in a shopping center so you could definitely make it a day trip.

Have you thought to look outside of traditional bridal stores?  I was in a wedding where the girl selected Ann Taylor Dresses . My cousin was in a wedding where the dresses were BCBG.  Off the rack.
