Beach wedding..what shoes?

I am having a beach wedding in June. I'm trying to figure out shoes for BM and myself, help please.

Re: Beach wedding..what shoes?

  • So you and your girls will be walking in the sand?  If so then I say for the ceremony to go barefoot or have everyone wear flat sandals (with an ankle strap so that the shoes aren't flinging sand everywhere).

For your reception, which I am assuming is not on the sand, then a nice pair of wedges, the sandals that they wore for the ceremony, or any other shoe that feel comfortable in (same for you) will work.

  • Let the bridesmaids wear whatever shoes that they'd like. That takes that stress off of you.

You will probably want a flat sandal with a back strap.

I'm wearing these for my beachside wedding (though ours is a garden and not sand). I'm then changing into other shoes for the reception (which is not on grass/sand).

  • No shoes. If you really want to wear some, I'd wear something in this style:

  • I wouldn't do shoes at all! How often do you walk on the beach and not take off your shoes? It's really hard to walk in the sand with shoes on. If anything, I would do what @southernbelle0915 posted. Those actually look like my wedding shoes and I'm not having it on the beach. Sand will get in them though. For the reception, I could see doing different shoes, such as flats, sandals, flip flops etc.

  • Barefoot, or like the other ladies have said, flat sandals. Something a little more sparkly than what you might normally go for, and something that will show off a beautiful pedi!

  • Thank you all I think I'm going to go with no shoes during wedding on sand then let them wear what they want or already have. I really like those silver sandals! Thanks!
  • I would consider having something like showen above in case the sand is hot. If the sand isn't hot, barefoot it, but I know the beaches in my area, the sand can get pretty hot during the day so having something on stand by would be nice.
