Rustic New Jersey Wedding Venue

Hi!!! I am in a bit of a bind and hope someone might be able to help! I was hoping to find an awesome restored barn to have my wedding in, but with my fiance and I's astronomically large family and low budget its not looking so good. I am trying to be creative, but I have hit a wall. I am trying to find a budget friendly, rustic looking venue in NJ that can fit 200+. I would like to bring in my own caterer etc (the perks to a large family some one is in every type of business). Ive looked at a few places, but non of them seem to have enough room to do anything but stand and that sounds like a terrible wedding. To sum it up any ideas for a rustic looking venue, 200+ people, not outside and budget friendly?? Thanks for the help!
P.S. I know this  may not exist, but figured I'd ask

  • Hi,

It's not in NJ but just over the bridge in PA is Rosebank Winery (about 5 minutes from central NJ border)...my friend had a 200+ person wedding in the Rose Ballroom and it was GORGEOUS.  I know they paid a rental fee of 5-6k for the place including tables and chairs which worked out to be 25 or 30/pp...but they brought in a BBQ caterer to keep costs down. Also you bring in your own liquor (through Shop Rite Liquors in Pennington, NJ) and they supply the wine.  She told me her liquor bill was about 2k (beer, wine, and about 6 hard alcohol choices).

Her alcohol and rental fee was in the 40ish range pp and the catering was on the inexpensive side (pulled pork, chicken, veg, mac and cheese, salad) so it ended up being really reasonable given the large size.  I know she was nervous about the large rental fee but it ended up being cheaper than an all inclusive place.

  • Have you checked out the Inn at Milrace Pond in Hope, NJ?  I'm not sure what their catering policies are but it may be an option for you.  Also, if you're willing to check out PA and NY...you may be able to find something that works for you, even if it's a little out of your way.  Just a though. Good luck!!!!
