Bachelorette Party Ideas

Ok, so I live in New Orleans (perfect place for a bachelorette party, right?!)...not so much. I'm not a partier, I'm not into clubs and I don't drink, so what the heck does that leave for a bachelorette party!?

Re: Bachelorette Party Ideas

  • well, what are you into?

What about going out to Oak Alley plantation? Or a riverboat cruise? Or how about an evening of getting tarot cards read?

  • I like chill stuff lol for my cousin's wife's bachelorette party we had done dinner and a sip and paint type thing but I remember my cousin (my MOH) whining about how boring it was and how she wanted to go out and party. So I want it to be something everyone enjoys and isn't boring everyone to death. I'll also have my FI's lil sis as a bridesmaid but she'll only be 14 by the time I have my bachelorette party and I wanted to include her too.
  • Spa? Bowling? Mini golf? Movie night?

  • I thought about a spa/girls weekend in Biloxi or a mini beach trip but I feel like that's too expensive for everyone (i have 3 friends still in college and not working, my MOH just got laid off and only has a part-time jo and then thatd be one more expense for my MIL to spend for her daughter to be one of my bridesmaids). Maybe dinner, bowling, a movie, and sip and paint all in one night! hahaha
  • Are you the bride or a bridesmaid planning a bachelorette?

  • @mallorylee0790 - if you are the bride in this scenario then you need to back off from the planning.  You shouldn't be planning your bach party.  If someone offers to plan one then great, if not then you don't get one.  It is fine to get some ideas together as to what you would like to do if the host/hosts ask for your input but as to what your party will consist is up to whoever is hosting the party.

  • I'm the bride in the scenario. I just don't want a bachelorette party I'm miserable at cause it's somethung I'm not comfortable with. My MOH is a complete party girl (the complete opposite of me and I know she sees this as the perfect opportunity for an all out drinking fest on Bourbon, which I will be BEYOND uncomfortable with) so that's why I was looking for suggestions for if she asks what I want to do for my bachelorette party.

I'm sort of the same, but my best friend (and MOH) had some great ideas for my bachelorette party.  She's still planning it, but I think she's thinking about something like an overnight at a vineyard.  There are several in our area that have nice inns.  She's mentioned the possibility of booking a suite for one night, going for a hike, having mani/pedis (I think there is someone there that does it), dinner, and/or renting a bus/limo to take us around to other nearby wineries for tastings.  I also like the idea of a spa day.  Even if you aren't looking to spend a lot of money, some nice spas will allow you to pay for a day pass, even without booking treatments.  Then, you and all your girls can hang out in big bathrobes all day, and enjoy whatever amenities they have.

Also, I read one post in which the commenter suggested you stay out the planning.  I imagine that if a MOH offers to host a b-party, a tiny bit of polite input wouldn't offend her (or at least most).  I know mine keeps asking me how I like different ideas, because ultimately, she wants to plan something that she knows I'll like!  I'm easy, but when it comes down to it, my best friends knows me well so I'm not worried.  sure it will be great, and so will yours :)
  • Thanks so much Jbirdd38! I mean I'd like to do plantation sleepover or a girls weekend in Biloxi or Gulf Shores, or even St Francisville, or a camping adventure. I just wanted something that was fun but didn't involve a lot of alcohol or strippers LOL thats just not my thing and makes me feel way too awkward lol.
