Marriage license ?

Our priest wants everyone to sign the marriage license at the rehersal dinner? IS this normal does that mean we are legally married 10/5/12 lol.

    I don't think so.  I was told we could complete our marriage license up to 90 days before the wedding, but we wouldn't be officially married until our actual wedding day.

    I think that's pretty standard; one less thing to have to do the day of the wedding and one less thing to remember to bring.  You're not married until the priest signs the license, which is something he'd do after the ceremony, before sending it to the state.

    Our DOC has us sign the marriage license at the rehearsal as well.

    just like PP said-you are not legally married until priest signs it. I'm sure there are more than a few people who get caught up in everything and dont go back to sign it. By signing it beforehand it enables the priest to sign it and send it on its way :)
