Wedding Woes

Questions- gin, food dehydrator, pictures

1. Anyone recommend a good gin?  I haven't been in the market for awhile and I think it'll be part of DH's Christmas.

2. He wants a food dehydrator.  Costco has one, but I have no clue what to look for in features or size etc.

3. I'm getting Max's 1 year pics done.  We'll get the rights so I'm trying to figure out the best place to get the pics printed for the wallet sizes.

Re: Questions- gin, food dehydrator, pictures

  • Gin- I like Tanqueray Rangpur or Hendricks personally. Hendricks doesn't quite taste like regular gin though- it's got a different flavor profile than regular gin. As for food dehydrator we have a cheap one. I think what I would look for is ease of cleaning. The trays that stack inside don't fit well in our dishwasher and it is sort of a PITA to hand wash the trays.
  • 1. Bombay Sapphire

    2. Anything made by Nesco. My parents have had one for nearly twenty years and it still works perfectly.

    3. I ordered engagement photos from Shutterfly and was impressed.

  • I don't mess with gin after the LSU Armory party of Spring 1992. No Sir!!!

However, I hear good things about Hendricks too.

  • I'm a Hendricks girl. It's more floral than regular gin, so it's not for everyone. I also really like Junipero, but it's not available in my state (stupid PA state stores).

Can't comment on the food dehydrator.

I always get my pictures printed by Shutterfly.
  • Bombay Sapphire was the go to back in the day.  I didn't know if there was a new market.

I see a lot of Nesco's out there.  The one at Costco is a Waring Pro.

I have shutterfly coupons.  They do wallet sizes and such?

  • No idea on the gin or the dehydrator, but I always get pics/calendars/books printed at Walgreens and have been satisfied 90% of the time, and when I wasn't satisfied, they fixed it.   They always have good deals going on, esp. as it gets closer to Christmas.  If you want something more professional looking, you can choose the "matte" option instead of glossy.
If you want something even more professional looking, a great local place is Cord Camera.
  • 1.  Smalls.  IDK if you can get it where you are, but it's the only gin I like at all.  It's not so juniper pine tree heavy tasting.

    2.  IDK what we have.  I hate the thing, but with 6let's love of fruit roll-ups, it'd probably be a good thing for you.

    3.  Shutterfly is nice and fast.  If you sign up, they send coupons all.the.danged.time.  I finally set up a filter for them so that they just sit in there until I actually want them, instead of me getting a coupon and thinking I need to use it/spend monies.
  • For the gin, I'd recommend a small-batch American one.this article lists several.

    No idea on the dehydrator.
