  First off honey, you're gorgeous. I think your hair should reflect your style though, so if you think you would like it half up, then go with that. But I think your dress is very busy, and to balance the big bottom, you should have some hair on top as well.

  I think you would look beatiful with a total updo or a half updo. Go with what you want. The plus to a total updo is that it will keep your neck free and cool during the day and while you are dancing at your reception. I totally think you can rock an updo with that beautiful dress.

  Honestly, I prefer updos with wedding gowns.  I just find down dos and/or half updos to just not be elegant enough to go with the majority of wedding gowns.

  
  

  I really think that a fabulous updo would go great with your dress and then you wouldn't have to worry about your hair going flat or your neck getting hot or you just getting irritated with your hair laying on your shoulders and back all night.

  Because the style of your dress is formal, I'd go with an updo. In the end, though, I'd go with whatever you feel most comfortable with. You may want to try both and see how you feel --- depending on the volume, updos can add height and elongate the face.

  You have a beautiful face!  No need to hide it.  That being said, have your hair styled in whatever way makes you feel most comfortable.  I agree that you should try out a few hair styles.  Bring your headpiece/veil and a picture of your dress when you do.  See what you like best and go with that. But under no circumstances should you worry about "hiding" your face. You are going to look gorgeous no matter what you choose to do with your hair.

  I think an updo would be perfect.  But the smooth finished type not the messy looking type with ringlets and crap hanging all over. I wish I could post a picture but alas I dont know how.

  I agree with many of the others, an updo would likely better match the formal feel of your dress. I totally understand your worrying, and have been having the same fears. I'd say make sure that your updo isn't too slicked back, give it some shape and volume so you still have some shape to frame your face.

  I feel so much better with everyone's opinions pretty much matching mine. I think I'll go with an updo--I definitely want the volume and polished type, not anything pulled back tightly. Also those are good points about an updo not bothering me, haha I tend to mess with my hair a lot when it's down :P thanks for the kind words and input ladies, it's very helpful!
  
  P.S. Yes I believe it is an allure gown, but I did have someone tell me it looks like a pnina. Score!

  Go for a trial.  Have the stylist do an updo and a half updo.  See which one you like better.

  
  

  As someone with a round face myself, I look much better with some hair down.  Pulled all the way up/back tight around my face does nothing for me.  I did a half updo and loved it and felt comfortable.
