Flower Girl/Ring Bearer

Hi Everyone!
I'm sure this is probably totally okay, and no one would even notice, but do you think it is okay to have just a ring bearer and not a flower girl? We are not close with anyone who has a little girl we could use.
Thanks!

No one will notice if you do not have a flower girl.  Only ask a child who you truly want to be a part of your day.  If you can't think of anyone immediately, don't worry about it.

  • Thanks for the edit suggestion... I didn't mean it to sound that way! :)
  • I was hoping you didn't :)  Ending with "use" just left a negative connotation for me.  I've been to many weddings without flower girls or ring bearers.  You can do it however you like.  Good luck!

  • We just had a ring bearer, my nephew.  Everyone thought he was adorable and no one cared that we didn't have a flower girl. Those roles are just there to be able to include children that you are close to.  If no little girls fit that bill, no worries.
  • We had a ring bearer and no flower girl. We were neither arrested by wedding police nor shunned by society, so yes, I think it's ok.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • There's no requirement that you have either one.  If you have one but not the other, you'll be fine.
  • We didn't have either and it was perfectly fine.
  • I can't recall ever even being to a wedding that had either a flower girl or a ring bearer, and didn't even think about it until right this minute. I'm sure no one will even notice.
  • You don't need a flower girl. My niece is acting as our ring-bearer.

    Anniversary
  • I mean, I've heard that your marriage will be cursed if you only have a ring bearer, but if you want to take the chance, go ahead.
  • We have a girl we're asking to be our FG, but we aren't particularly close to any young boys so we'll either have a FG with no RB or neither, depending on if she wants to do it or not.

  • We are only having a ring bearer. It's my nephew. We don't have any little girls in our lives that we are close enough to include in our wedding party.
