VENUE HELP!!! Need to find "forest" in South Florida!!!

Hi all!! So my fiancé and I are having a tough time finding the venue we want for the budget we have, especially in South Florida! We are looking for an outdoor ceremony to resemble "enchanted forest/secret garden" vibe. Honestly anything in front of a huge Banyan tree would make me happy! We'd live to have the reception at the same location but indoor. All this with an 8,000 dollar budget of only about 50 guests. Not too bad right!? Well it's been a pain looking for places! They either turn out too expensive ( Cocoplum would be amazing, but not in our budget) or just not the right look. A few places we plan to check out are Coconut Grove Women's Club, Cauley Square, and Flamingo Gardens. If any of you know of a few good places PLEASE HELP! We are open to Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade County. Thanks so much!!!!!
Happy Planning-
Jenn :)

  • I don't know the price but have you checked Spanish Monastery in north Miami beach?

  • Hillcrest country club has a huge banyan tree (or at least its very similar to one)
  • Yes. Hillcrest has a great tree! And should be close to your budget if I remember correctly.

  • You could look into the Sundy House in Delray
  • If you want banyan tree, look into matheson hammock park, and consider having your reception at red fish grille. Also, look into fern forest nature center, and i think long key nature park in broward county.
"HAPPINESS...is being married to your Best Friend"
  • the addison in boca has a giant tree in its court yard that could give that kind of vibe

  • Sundy house and the Addison are both beautiful, but they will be out of your budget. I looked into both and they are out of my budget of $12,000 and I'm having a Sunday wedding....hope that helps, so you don't waste time or get your hopes up (I really wanted to get married at Sundy house, but I just couldn't make it work with my budget and their food minimums)
  • definitely check out the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. There is a beautiful banyan tree there and the grounds are gorgeous.
  • Thanks so much guys! We went to Hillcrest and loved it. We also went to Long Key. We are just trying to figure out which one is better for our budget! Now onto looking for budget friendly caterers!!!
  • Hi ladies, can anyone who used the Matheson Hammock Park for their ceremony by the big tree/water front, which area did you select during the reservation online? There are so many choices! Thanks in advance :)
  • You have to meet with Ralph's Caterer - very budget friendly and buy your own liquor. You might also look at Pinecrest Gardens.
  • I had called Hilcrest and they are pretty pricey. If you want to bring your own caterer they will still charge you per person. Spanish Monastery's fees are on their site and the area with the Banyan tree is called LOGGIA... its a bit pricey in my opinion. Miami Beach Botanical Gardens site fee is north of $4M. I've heard a lot about CAuley Square and places in Homestead for that "Forest" effect. Have you checked in that area? V

  • @dovelove1020 I have a friend who recently did her wedding there. It was beautiful (well once it was all ready guests got there before they had finished decorating) she had a 1500! Budget! And it was beautiful. She did her ceremony under the tree and the reception at the pavilion next to it.
  • i checked out some pictures from my wedding photographers portfolio that were taken at fern forest and it is gorgeous there! i wanted originally to have our wedding there but the date was already taken - and i didn't want to drive all the way to ocala. instead, we chose to have it at the secret woods nature center. i'm not sure if they have the particular tree you mentioned but it's outdoorsy and forested :)
  • check out my venue at new dawn at cutler bay.. there is a outdoor area..not quest forest but more garden and there is an inside place and the only cathc is you have to use the cateror
