Wedding Woes

All Vegas Related

1.  Clearly H and I have grown out of the clubbing phase.  We were walking back to the hotel at 11pm on Saturday, Walgreens bag in hand.   Walking through the casino with a bottle of water and candy while visually dining on cleavage was beyond interesting.

2.  Starbucks coffee is RIDICULOUS in Vegas, well all coffee is ridiculous.  I can get 20 oz of coffee here for $2.41, but in Vegas?  About $4.90.

3.  A block in Vegas is no less than .5 miles.  I hate that.  "Oh it's just UP THERE!"  Wait....let me think...that's farking 1.5 miles away, and back.  Ugh.

4. $20 is all I lost at gambling.  I am cheap. (yes, I'll spend a bajillion on Coffee)

5.  Neighbor flier on one plane was actually coworker or flier in the seat next to me.  He said he had kids from age 27 to 1.  I told him "I have nothing to say to that".  Coworker guffawed out loud.  Neighbor flier wasn't amused.

  • Hell yes to #3.  It's all so big it looks like it's "right there."  It is so not.

    But did you have fun?!?

  • I *DID* have fun.  I am just tired. And next time?  I'll know what to expect.  It was fun, but I think about 3 days is long enough.

Oh yeah, you can't do the strip for too long unless ask you want to do is gamble, eat and drink. When we go see dh's family we may hit the strip once. We are going next week and are seeing the decorations at the Bellagio and that is it.
We tend to hit stuff like the dam, red rocks, etc. There is really a lot of the strip to see, had I realized I would have directed you to keen stuff!

    Edited to fix autocorrect.
  • @jojobrn the Venetian is really pretty too for Christmas decorations.

Green Valley Ranch is also really nice.
  • I always tell virgins that best advice I can give them is "Just because you can see it doesn't mean you can walk to it." This is one reason we stay downtown, where a block is a true block and it only takes two minutes, tops, to walk to the next casino, instead of a minimum of 20.

Most virgins come back and say they wish they would have listened to me. You know, because you can see the Palms or the Rio from the Strip, so it must just be a quick walk, right?

  • LOTS of walking in Vegas. Last time we were staying at New York New York and I made plans to meet a childhood friend at Caesars. Yeah, that was quite the walk.

I'm glad you had fun. And that was also us heading back to our room early with our candy and water while taking in all the sights.

  • God I hate Vegas. That's all. 2 years of near weekly travel there for business totally soured me on that place.
