Thinking of changing my wedding day to the day of the Detroit Marathon

It will be an evening wedding, but I keep going back and forth because I worry that vendors, out of town guests and bridesmaids coming into the city to get ready will have trouble because of marathon traffic.  The ceremony and reception site is in the heart of downtown.  Am I asking for trouble and extra stress? Thoughts?

    I ran the half this year and it was very, very busy downtown. Lots of road closures, and I would keep in mind that most hotels book up very early as well- because the marathon starts at 7 am many people like to stay in the area the night before (so Saturday night). However, I would think that would pretty much clear up by early afternoon. 

    That being said, we actually did see wedding people around the hotel we stayed at (The Marriott right across from the RenCen). I'm not sure where/when the actual ceremony was, but we saw bridal party and guests coming and going. So it can be done!
