  I haven't stayed at the golden nugget but I will tell you that you can get GREAT deals on amazing hotels on the strip. If you decided to look at hotels on the strip I can recommend. I would definetly sign up for travelzoo if you don't get their emails already Bc the usually have great deals for hotels and entertainment. The VIP club tour is a great deal when they have it for like 30-40 I do it almost everytime I go. It takes you to three clubs drinks on the bus and I've always had fun with the ppl.

  If you are planning to walk the strip at all, do it at night and make sure you drink LOTS of water.  It is extremely hot there in July, so be prepared.

  Golden Nugget I heard has very nice rooms since they redid them and an awesome waterslide. That hotel is in the older part of down town (north of the strip). It has its history over there with the older historic casinos but if you want to see the rest of the strip, you will need transportation. You can't walk there. Shop around for hotel deals, look at reviews. The Tropicana has also redone their rooms. There isn't much to do at that hotel other than play in the pool and gamble but its closer to the south side of the strip and has more to do around.

  Night clubs are just about everywhere. The best ones will cost more.You can try calling them ahead of time to try to get on the VIP list. Let them know its your honeymoon. You will still have to pay but you might not have to wait as long to get into certain places.  I think I went to the ROK in the new year new year and it wasnt bad for the price. Drinks are over price. So play the penny slots to try to pregame. Tip your cocktail waitress for the free drinks.

  Free stuff to do. TI- pirate show outside at night. Bellagio - free fountain show. MGM - watch the lions. Some hotels have small little gardens in them.

  Into the outdoors and have a car/truck? Go to Mount Charlston or Valley of fire (very hot in July).

  Food - BURGR at Planet Hollywood (Gordon Ramsay's burger joint).. if you want to splurge and are steak lovers, SW Steakhouse at the Wynn is AMAZING.. Twin Peaks is a bar just outside Planet Hollywood, great beer and wings.. Holsteins and Shakes is another burger place in the Cosmopolitan.. Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.. Lavo at Venetian.. Buddy Valastro from Cake Boss just opened a new restaurant in the Venetian too that might be worth a shot.. Hard Rock Cafe on the strip.. I would advise against hyped up places like Margaritaville and Sugar Factory - overpriced and the food isn't great.. you can also get buffet deals for x amount of buffets in one day for x amount of dollars for use at a few different properties, if you are buffet crazy food ON the strip is generally pretty pricey but like I said, avoid the places that draw you in based on name and go to the actually GOOD places. My fiance and I live here in Vegas and are total foodies - we don't frequent the strip much but have our favorites - those are the ones I listed

  
  

  Nightclubs - Any at the Wynn property are really nice - XS, Tryst, etc. If you are walking around the strip or shops and are lucky enough to encounter a promoter, you can get put on a list and usually get your entry comped. Men pay a higher cover at most clubs. Tao at Venetian is really popular, and Hakkasan in MGM just opened and has gotten rave reviews. We don't go to many nightclubs so I can't help too much there but just know what gets highly talked about.

  
  

  Things to do - If you're looking to shop.. Fashion Show Mall, The Grand Canal Shoppes @ Venetian, Forum Shops @ Caesars, Miracle Mile Shops @ Planet Hollywood.. Free things to do - Fremont Street (where the Golden Nugget is) at night is a sight to see, the Bellagio Water Show and TI Pirates as mentioned before, M&M World, taking pictures at the Las Vegas sign... Things that aren't free - Grand Canyon Helicopter tours,  Sigfried and Roy Secret Gardens @ Mirage

  
  

  Hotels - vegas.com usually has great deals, we have stayed at Mandalay Bay (moderately priced - more expensive in summer - AWESOME for summer because they have a "beach" and wave pool&lazy river), Excalibur (cheap), Monte Carlo (cheap), MGM (moderately priced - beautiful renovated rooms), and the Wynn (expensive). Unless you really plan to spend a lot of time IN your room, don't get too caught up on the bad reviews for places like Excalibur. The rooms and property aren't much to look at but if you're just there to sleep, it'll suffice. If you're looking for a property with a nice pool, you might want to pay a little more for a better property. MGM has a great pool. Some hotels (like MGM, Venetian) have their 21+ pools that usually have resident DJs or Guest DJs during the summer which can be a different vibe. Aria is also a really nice hotel, my parents stay there regularly and really like it.

  We really enjoyed Freemont Street (where Golden Nugget is) when we went in September.  It was great during the week, the weekend it got alittle to crazy for us, lots of cops everywhere.  I did like the table minimums on Freemont Street better than those on the strip.  We stayed at Cesar's Palace in September, paid a low rate for the room something like $140/night.  At check-in we told the Front Desk Lady we were celebrating FI's birthday, tipped her $20, and she upgraded us to a beautiful suite overlooking the pool (google Cesar's $20 trick, it worked great for us but may not work if you are over 4th of July).  Cesar's was nice because it was in the middle of everything and the staff was amazingly helpful with anything we needed.

  -Freemont street has an awesome light show at night and it's free

  -On the strip we found CVS/Walgreens and stocked up on water bottles, snacks and alcohol for the room.  Saved us from buying this stuff during the day through the casinos.

  -The Neon Museum off of Freemont street is beautiful.  It's a graveyard of the old casino signs.  You get a guided tour with the history of Vegas.  Very cool to see.  It is slightly more expensive at around $25 person.  It's a must see at night, skip the daytime tours

  -If you don't have your heart set on a show check out Tix4Tonight (all over the strip) when in Vegas.  They sell discounted tickets to shows that day.  I haven't used them in Vegas but I do something similar in New York and get great tickets for a cheap price.
