XP: Envelopes wont stay sealed

It's about the time for me to send out our Save the Dates. I tried to seal some last night by doing what I usually do - licking them. Well I found out very quickly that they wont stay sealed that way. I tried using a glue stick but that didn't seem to work either - it is possible that the glue stick is pretty old. I don't remember when I got it.

Any ideas?

I used envelope sealer. Looks like a bingo dotter. From Staples. That seemed to do the trick.

Use envelope sealers from an office supply store. That's all we use at work and it works wonders!

If the sealers won't work, try using double sided tape, so it won't show on the outside.

Avery sells some gold seals that you can print on. I bought some on Amazon for less than $10 and printed the works "Thank You" on some and then a custom graphic for our invitations themselves. They worked like a charm in the printer and added a little extra to the invites without it being a lot of money.

Rubber cement, double sodded tape, or a sticker, are my suggestions.

this is what we used. Actually, I sealed them like a month in advanced and all stayed closed

You can get it at Walmart, Office Max, Staples etc

Glue dots. Sticker. I did glue dots for my invites and a sticker for my STDs.

Just make sure the envelopes are flat and smooth. If they are lumpy or "too thick" they won't be able to go through the processing machine at the post office. If this happens they end up charging you a surcharge.

It almost happened to us with our invites.
