Vegas wedding (reception, venue, etc)

Hi all (:
My fiance and i just recently decided to have a wedding in vegas. We are thinking about having a very small intimate ceremony, then having reception at the buffet and having a party afterwords. (dancing and drinks)
Any suggestions on venues? Which hotel is the best? Best wedding package?
And which buffet, i would like to have a private room. we are thinking about having about 30 people.
I dont want to spend a lot of money but at the same time i dont want to have a cheap cheesy wedding.
one of the big reason we wanted to do a wedding in vegas is to save money(since it will be a destination wedding for us, we are traveling from WA state)
ANY help would help (: haha any tips or anything please let me know (:

Re: Vegas wedding (reception, venue, etc)

  • Welcome to the board and congrats.  Just my first word of warning; nothing is cheaper in Vegas other than the probably the marriage license.

The Wicked Spoon buffet at Cosmo is probably one of the more commonly recommended ones.  Top of the line buffet would be Bellagio or Wynn but very pricey.

Best hotel, wedding package, bar/club for dancing and drinks can vary dramatically depending on your tastes.  Do you have an idea of budget for each piece and also what type of decor or environment would you envision for your after-dinner reception?

My site has a lot of info to get you started; link in my signature.
