FWP Bridal/ FOMOF Problems

So FI and I are sitting here watching the Seahawks slaughter the Saints and he turns to me and says "What if the Hawks are playing on our wedding day (10/18/14)?" I start to panic and then find their tentative schedule..WHEW! They play the Sunday after! All better.

Not to sound rude but what if they were playing the day of your wedding? Would you really be that upset? I mean the game could be recorded to watch later. I would think the wedding would be more important. Not trying to be mean or rude, just a little curious.

Also what does FWP and FOMOF mean?

If they were, then yes, I would record it, but I would be a little sad. We are BIG Seahawks fans. I was trying to be more funny than serious.

Lol ok. I guess I can understand that. I am not a Seahawks fan but I would be sad if my team played on our wedding day. Luckily our wedding is in the summer
  • I'm a football fan. That's why my wedding is on a Saturday :-P
  • LOL, my FI and I are into UFC and that's pretty much the only sport we watch.  We would be fine missing it and watching it later, but we would have to stay off of facebook because people always post and spoil it.

  • Lol! That's literally why we avoided having a fall wedding. That and hunting season.

  • I wouldn't have scheduled my wedding on a day when the steelers were playing. My family and fiances family are all huge fans and I wouldn't want everyone watching the game on their phones! Plus I wouldn't want to miss a game either!
  • I'm NEY, but I couldn't schedule my wedding on a day when any NFL team was playing - BF and I play fantasy football and I do picks with my family. Nope. Not happening.
  • I'm a football fan. That's why my wedding is on a Saturday :-P

NFL games are played on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays. Unless you're talking about college football. Otherwise, I'm confused!

Perhaps I am just crazy then. ETA well my FI is crazy. I knew that...and somehow it didn't register in my mind..I blame him for my panic.

We are college football people. (go Buckeyes!) We chose August instead of September to avoid getting married on a football Saturday.

    It's a big deal.
  • Hah my college is playing a big rival college on our wedding day, but in Las Vegas. Incidentally FI has some family in Las Vegas too. He's been joking that he wants to go there for the game and that he'll "phone in" his vows to me......!

I mean, you can Skype a wedding these days now, right?

  • When we picked our wedding date, which happened to be a Sunday for a variety of other, essential reasons, I said to my dad, "Don't worry, it's not the day of a Penn State game, and PSU is away that weekend anyway."

Because God has a sense of humour, DH is a Michigan fan, my family is all PSU fans, and our wedding was the day after the PSU-Michigan game, which would have been hard enough, but no, THIS YEAR, Penn State took it to 4OT for the W. DH was a gracious loser and said, "I'd rather my team lose and your dad's team win on the weekend I'm marrying his little girl."

  • I'm a huge Bears fan and a season ticket holder. We're also big Blackhawks fans and hockey games are played on any day of the week. This was the biggest reason for our summer wedding.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe they do the scheduling for next season until long after this season is over. Like, early summer. And no one even knows who will play who (outside the divisions) until the end of the season. This tentative schedule you found - has the bye week?

No, and I go back to look and I realize that I didn't really find much at all, just tentative. But as Climbing said...NFL games are only on Thurs, Sun and Mon so I got nothing to worry about. :)

  • Ooooh okay. I didn't look to see what day of the week the 18th was. I guess I assumed it was a Sunday from your OP. All is well!! :)
