Now I'm just annoyed

We booked a photographer for Max's 1 year pics last Saturday. A real photographer. After the session he said he'd have a preview up in a few days and a finished gallery up in a week. He posted photos of a Sunday session to try to get holiday people in. I get it, he's trying to get the business. Friday afternoon(6 days later) I sent an email asking what the time line was so I could figure out party invites and Christmas cards. He said he'd have the preview up that night and everything done by Sunday. He apologized and said he got behind with the holidays.

As of last night there was still nothing up. I sent another email asking what's up and he hasn't responded. I'm annoyed. I get wanting to hit the holiday business when you can, but darn it I want my pics too. As least a preview! I'm also a little worried something happened to them.

I hope that he's just backed up with the holiday specific photos. But regardless of that back up, it's ridiculous that it's been more than a week and you don't even have a preview yet

Yes, if he was just busy he shouldn't give you a concrete time unless he really intended to get it done by then.

I'm with Dixie, this sounds fishy. Though I'm not sure she really said that. Get with the program, photographer man!

A professional tells you that it'll be done by X, it should be done by X with no excuses.

I'd be looking for some discounts now.

That stinks. I would show up at his studio and not leave until I had something to see.

He just rents the studio space, but he lives in the neighborhood. I booked him because so many people here use him. Which then leads to the awkward. I would usually use the facebook page to ask for referrals for services. Also everyone else is busy now too. Blergh.

Where's the lurker that "flamed" me for kvetching about Target photos? I want to make sure they know I know this is a FWP.

he FvCK. He just posted something on the facebook page that he's booking holiday sessions this week and all weekend. I messaged him that I want pictures.

It's different if he had said, "It's the holidays, so my deadlines have to be a bit longer; I can have these to you in [extended deadline]" in the first place. But you don't promise something you can't do as a professional. And that's why you pay a professional, is the product and recognition of how long it takes to get said product.

Now as a sucktastic Varuna who can't get her butt to a post-office w/tutu in hand, that's different, b/c I'm didn't have you pay me for a service. (I'm going at lunch, btw)

I really wasn't expecting final product too soon, except he said so. Added that there is no preview and radio silence from an email while on other social media....anyway, he replied to the fb message that they would be done tonight. He already gave a neighborhood discount so I don't really want to ask for more. I'm guessing he doesn't want a bad rep though.

As for the tutu.....I almost want to do a photo session when it comes.

If he doesn't deliver tonight I"d ask him openly on FB, he won't want that kind of publicity and will get right on them!

I'd be really annoyed too. FB call out next for sure, especially since while yours may not be expressly "holiday" photos, you still need them in the same time frame as everyone else.
