Any Body doing a Candy Bar?

Because it is a destination wedding

i do not want to have a favor that folks have to pack in their luggage and take home

so i am doing a candy and popcorn bar *chicago popcorn*

any body else do is? how did it work out?

I did a candy bar and the minute I opened it up that candy was gone in 5 mins. Lol. Mine was hit ! And I love the popcorn to go along with it, something salty and sweet ....good combo!

Ok see there is this place called *click me* Garretts popcorn

they make THE BEST cheese and caramel popcorn

the Chicago mix is the cheese and the caramel mixed together

I was born and raised in Chicago.... i love popcorn but i really love this popcorn and i hate cheese.. but this stuff is the bomb.com

they will send popcorn for weddings so i want to get some for the candy bar

@MrsBad13 did you do a color theme or old school candy?

i am trying to play with some ideas of what i want to do...

WELL LOL i was surely about to ask what is CHICAGO POPCORN and what made it diff frm Miami popcorn lol lol lol but now i know lol... carryon!

And to answer your question we are having a dessert bar since im having a southern style of food its gonna be southern desserts lol

thedivav now u got me wanting to try this popcorn lol.. and we have a place in the mall here that has something similar with cheese and caramel popcorn but they call it pops mix (cant think of the name of the company but girl its soo good LOL)

And yes im sooo excited about this dessert bar we will have some peach cobbler, mini pecan pie tarts and mini key lime tarts and a few other things i cant remember

you learn something new everyday.. bc I have never heard of chicago popcorn but that sounds kind of cool.. i might order a bag since I got nothing else going on at wok..

I dont know if this helps but I had a dessert table and it was a big hit

ok so i propose that @thedivav get me and @misstira some chicago pop corn since we dont know nothing about that..lol

Vee them things will not last long enough to be packed away in nobody's luggage babe. speaking as the cake ambassador, lemme just say about all things sugar: yum and bye. I went to a wedding last year where the favor was little honeypots covered in netting, each with their own mini honeycomb attachment. babeeeeee? I cannot stand honey but I betcha 3 of them things wound up in my car.

p.s. how are you supposed to get all the treats (and containers) to the destination? - extra piece of luggage?

I did old school candy even tho alot of it ended being color coordinated with my peacock theme beacuse of the wrappers. I bought my candy around easter time.. I had

I did a candy bar as well...and I think mine was gone in 2.5 seconds. I just did candy that i know people like. Like Mrs. bad mine was after easter so I got a lot of easter candy for 90 percent off from target. I had pretty much the same candy as Mrs. Bad. I think I had nerds and jelly beans as well. Here is a picture. I got my jars from Michaels with coupons...I think I spent about $50 total for candy for 200 people.

II am great @misstira...girl just getting adjusted to being married...the move from Maryland to Atlanta the new job, my sister and my mother being int he hospital but I have been blessed so I cant complain...all is well. I just had a birthday two weeks ago and my husband the great person that he is surprised me at my job with two dozen roses...it was FANTASTIC! Ill post an update with me later....

But yes girl we had a lot of candy and spent so little on it. I mean some bags of candy were $1.00 because it was after Easter and they were trying to get rid of it. That favor was a MAJOR HIT!

I been so busy but I jumped on to get caught up with everyone because I talk to MrsBad all the time (she just moved to Atlanta too) So we kick it from time to time and she told me people were posting updates and I wanted to see how my friends were doing and meet the newbies...

I hope all is well.....Anything new with anybody else...I dont have a facebook page so I cant join the group but I do have instagram. Anybody moving to Atlanta any time soon...anybody else pregnant....anybody else have to go off on someone one another board...lol...just trying to get caught up...

RanyattaCasey that is sooo great that you two are doing good and still happily and madly in love... and ^5 to hubby for the 2 dozen roses that is a very nice touch!!!

Now that whole candy buffet thing.. Girl i went to my friend wedding and i was trying my best to be good and not go straight to the candy and she didnt have alot but them ppl tore all that candy up lol!! I think ppl love sweets regardless... which is why im going to make sure the caterer doesnt put all the desserts out too soon only because its supposed to be for after the dinner not a snack before lol
