I can't have been the only one watching the horrific live version of The Sound of Music last night, so I also can't have been the only one crying on my couch from laughing so hard at the Twitterverse. Some of my favorite tweets included:
"Well this is the weirdest episode of True Blood I've ever seen."
"Can we just pick one accent and use that?"
"This production is like Carrie's third track on her Play On album: I wanna u-u-u-u-u-undo it!"
"I wish Julie Andrews was available for this live production of The Sound of Music, but I guess being Queen of Genovia keeps her pretty busy."
"I saw a black nun and immediately thought Whoopi Goldberg was there to steal the show!"
"NBC asks tough questions like, 'What's the most uncomfortable number of Swastikas for live national television?"
In all fairness, Carrie is a very talented singer (not actress), but it wasn't entirely her fault that the whole thing sucked. There were lots of bad factors, like the soap opera lighting, bad acting from most cast members, and sound (can we turn of the mikes during the kissing, please!?). Above all, THIS WAS A BAD IDEA IN THE FIRST PLACE!
What'd you all think?
