Wedding Invitations & Paper

Putting venue address on invitation

I know it's traditional not to put the venue address, just the city and state, on the invitation.  Our ceremony and reception are both taking place at the same venue so there is no separate reception card.  I put together a wedding website with the address, directions, etc., but was going to put the venue address on the invitation as well because I thought it would be easier for older guests who aren't good with the internet.  However I got my first proof back and I think it looks too wordy, so I want to take the address off and just put city/state.  Should I just trust that guests will be able to look it up themselves?

Re: Putting venue address on invitation

  • I believe that your guests will be fine with no address. typically I have had to use wedding websites or the internet to find them but had no problem doing so! Your guests will figure it out (:
  • If it's super formal, I'd leave it off. Unless the name of the venue is super generic to where people couldn't google it or look it up in a phone book, I think you're fine. Especially since it's on your website.

You could always include an info insert that has the venue address, hotel block information, shuttle info (if having), parking info, website URL, etc.
