FI is not a planner and has worked really hard in the wedding planning process. He tends to be laid back, I research everything. And it has been stressful! Starting this morning, I decided to send him a special text each day. He leaves for work 2-3 hours before I get up. So when I'm up, I text him and tell him one great thing I love about him and will do that all the way till xmas. I think he really appreciates that random compliment!

    That is sweet. Fiance and I send lovey-dovey texts now and then but I like to put little surprises in his lunch like a note, or a heart on his Rice Krispy or stop at the store the night before to get his favorite candy bar, etc.

    Awe that's so cute and a really nice idea. I also do the notes in lunch boxes since I make his lunch and my lunch every morning. I just tell him face to face how much I love him and appreciate him. Texting doesn't really work for us as we work at the same school district, but different buildings so the only time we text is during his planning period and lunch and those are usually about what he's doing and his students lol

    Aw, that's sweet!  I've been going through a rough patch all semester: I'm almost done with law school and just.  Cannot.  WAIT.  for it to be over.  Plus I have some PTSD issues after being flooded in Sandy, which reared back up around the one-year mark.  Fi has been amazing, really going out of his way to take on some of the household stuff I would normally do, and picking me up from the train station so I don't have to walk at night.  I put a note in his lunch every once in a while, but I find he's really a physical affection kind of guy, so I make sure he gets a really good hug first thing when I come in the door.  A hug and saying "thank you" usually puts him in a good mood.

    A lot of times, I take dinner to H at work (he works a night shift).  I buy him something or cook him something when we haven't gotten that done before hand.  Sometimes I surprise him with a Reese's or once I made an apple crisp.  He was so surprised.

    And I am super-duper high in the estimation of his co-workers.  Only a couple are married and most of the un-married ones think he's stupid for being married.   But they are so jealous of his apple crisp and me bringing him fresh hot food while they're eating ramen noodles and canned soup.

    Sometimes I put a note in his lunch as well.

    I stockpiled LifeSavers last Christmas and hid them (DH's favourite).  I pull out a couple every now and then to surprise him with.  He still wonders where I find them outside of the Christmas season.

    Yes, I think FH will agree with you.  Though he does appreciate the sweet gestures.

    When H and I were engaged, I wrote a thing I loved about him/happy memory of him for each day leading up to our wedding day and put them in a box with a heart painted on top. He cheated though and read them all at once.
